    Agreed I don’t like it in food but it’s safe. Not an uncommon thing in the world of food manufacturing. It’s been around and used for various other food manufacturing processes and exposure is ok.

    It takes a lot of it to reach toxicity. Now what’s the effect of the stuff over long term in low doses? Don’t know.

    Your government allows a whole lot of poison into our foods that other governments ban..and their populations are healthier
    America has a very sick if not the sickest population in the world and most of it comes from our diet

    If you eat the American diet you will end up in the American health care system, taking drugs from American big pharma

    CH3CH(OH)CH2OH propylene glycol food grade viscous sweet liquid. Generaly considered safe. Ya dont want to know what its made from, but it will not kill you, right away, like ethylene glycol will

    “All things are poison and nothing is without poison; only the dose makes a thing not a poison.”

    Even air and water are toxic in the right dose.

    Problem is we are consuming hundreds of less than lethal doses of "safe" chemicals in our food and its catching up to us.

    The idea of my post was to be healthier choose real food to eat rather than a jar of processed poisons at a low dose

    Oh I get it. I spent many years in food manufacturing. Just look at the flavor enhancer in gatorade. We used to process it. In its raw material state it requires a respirator. It will kill. But In small doses it’s deemed safe.

    I get it, and agree. I had my PE license and took several semesters of organic chemistry, and as such have a bad habit if noting the minutia when it comes to chemical formula. I was just noting one was a poison and the other was made from poison. Considered to be safe is flaming shit in my book.
    Just an example:
    Parathion was " considered to be safe" and commonly used by crop dusters on every thing under the sun in the 50s. After it became the go to drug for suicide in the 60s, as .004 oz is lethal, it was found to be "not safe"

Concentrations of 1 gm. of propylene glycol vapor in two to four million cc. of air produced immediate and complete sterilization of air into which pneumococci, streptococci, staphylococci, H. influenzae, and other microorganisms as well as influenza virus had been sprayed.

    PG vapor was found to be an excellent candidate for restricting different viral infections through multiple routes, such as aerosol, fomite, and droplet transmission. Taken together, the study findings demonstrate PG to be an economical and effective virucide that was safe to consume and inhale, particularly when compared to other fumigation systems and disinfectants. The prospective implementation of PG as an infection prevention tool and virucidal deserves additional exploration.
