I have no problem with it. When it has been mentioned here before, though, some folks have felt the need to deride it because the primary spokesman has never been a police officer or in the military.

I don't care about that. There's plenty of reasons they could speak authoritatively without being police or mil. My problem is the breathless drama, repetition, and seeing their lame videos spammed all over.

The crime footage is useful. His conclusions and suggestions are not. That's why I only watch the first few minutes....

Perhaps the citizen was in the same mental state as Bernard Goetz? Fed up with being a victim, finally prepared (less training) to defend himself, and confronted by more of the folks that had robbed him before, it is understandable.
