USPS raised rates on stamps this month. i guess the rate increase is to cover additional storage time.

So, my package made if from the origin location in Las Vegas to the Dallas logistics center in 48 hours and it has been 7 days since it "left" Dallas and is nowhere to be found. Considering it is a 60 mile journey to me, you would think they could come up with a better excuse than "moving through the network". USPS will not let me file a missing mail claim because they say it is moving through the network and I need to wait until 11/27 to file a claim even though that deadline passed three days ago.

What a bunch of idiots!

This sucks. My local ups is pretty good, but don’t get me started with fedex.

I bought a brand-new Vertx EDC Commuter Sling gen. 1 (hard to find) from a fellow on WAGuns.org.
Unfortunately, he chose to ship it with damn USPS.
Three days later I tracked it and it said “Delivered to your door”.
Surely, there was nothing there!
I waited for 48 Hrs. and called local office.
An hour later some dude dropped the package off at my door and left quickly.

I had a bicycle to be delivered by FedEx, had been tracking it and knew it was to be delivered. I'm home all the time, listening for the FedEx truck. I went online to check and it said delivered, go out look around don't see it. Call FedEx and the first thing I'm told is that it was marked no signature required. I asked her to check with the driver. My wife heard what was going on and took a walk around the cul-de-sac, few minutes later she came home with it. It was delivered two houses down, house was being renovated and worker said it was just delivered there.

I’ve had so many problems with USPS the past 1-2 years that I hardly know where to begin.

FedEx follows second worst and I’ve had the best results with UPS.

USPS, FedEx and UPS have been doing a good job lately, although if they change drivers if may change. Amazon had done well until the last few weeks when they stated delivering to wrong addresses.

One of the last cases I worked as a gang investigator was a large organized crime case that involved USPS employees and a lot of other people. They would be paid to skim off drivers licenses, ID cards, Social Security cards, etc at the sorting center or during their routes. I would watch them bring in the stolen mail to a game room in Southwest Houston, where this ring was operating from.

That case took up a lot of resources, by the time I was leaving we had federal assets helping handling wire taps, I was listening to jail house calls for hours, pole cameras were set up. I had a blast working that case. That started when one lady reported her mail being stolen and we decided to watch the mailboxes at her apartment complex thinking it would be an easy arrest.

UPS is doing any better. My UPS 'overnight air' delivery has been seen several overnights since last week.
This is the third attempt by amazon to ship a bulb for a mag light, as the first two shipments never arrived.

I notice many online purchases I’ve been making lately from some major retailers now have ‘package insurance’ as an optional fee (usually a couple of bucks)

I wonder if they have noticed the amount of package ‘theft’ increasing (while package is in transit)
