What type of scams do they run ?

How do you detect them ?

I've never used that site, but also need to sell some guns.

    Any intel appreciated.
Thieves, Flakes, Scammers, they show up at meet up with two or three buddies RedFlag!
They attempt to get you to send them money or electronic payments,
They ask for a down payment.
They show up and say they only have XX amount of $$.
    If trading they show up.
with a piece of junk and not what they sent pics of.
They don't show up at all.
They ask you to hold your item until they get paid.
They attempt to sell guns they don't own. But post pics from online or someone else's items.
Whatever works for them to Gain.

Yea gotta be fairly careful on there but I've had good luck. After awhile the scams become obvious. Anyone who wants anything other than to meet at a public place at a defined time with cash you should ignore.

I've bought many guns from this group (I don't sell guns) and in every case they've acted with consumate integrity. I wouldn't worry much about getting screwed over by the membership here.

That's why a friend recommended this site to me

    We’re a tight bunch here.
I think folks are gonna look at this a bit sideways given how eager you are to move it so quickly…and rightly so if i’m honest.

This situation appears fishy…doubtful it’s gonna sell as fast as you say you need to sell it.

If you want to move a firearm legally and quickly, the absolute fastest way is gonna be a pawn shop.

Wouldn't touch any of these "New here, and I need to sell a gun, QUICK!" deals unless I could run the serial number past NCIC.
My wife used to work at SAPD, and would run a s/n for me once in a while, back before she passed 30 years ago.
Cant really ask the police, because if it hits, they look at you funny, and start asking questions.
If you already bought it, you will be lucky to just turn it in, and take the financial hit.

See a lot of pistol parts lots on eBay, with only the receiver missing, the least likely part to fail, so those look to me as all stolen guns.

I would like to see a change on forums that required a new seller to post an image of their driver's license before selling anything.
