Pro Tip - when your picky dog won't eat his heartworm medicine, cut a slice in a rare piece of sirloin and stick it in there. Takes about two nanoseconds to inhale.

Mine's really good at separating the pill in his mouth from anything he has to chew, and spitting out the pill. I usually have to wrap his medicine in soft cheese or something that he can lick and swallow right down before he realizes it. And even then if he sniffs the medicine first he might not take the cheese, so I have to give him a couple of pure pieces first.

FDA Releases List of Dog Food Brands That May Cause Heart Disease

    https://www.breitbart.com/pre-viral...list-dog-food-brands-may-cause-heart-disease/

"Below is the list of brands the FDA have found with the most cases linked to canine heart disease (DCM):

    • Acana, 67.
    • Zignatue, 64.
    • Taste of the Wild, 53.
    • 4Health 32.
    • Earthborn Holistic 32.
    • Blue Buffalo, 31.
    • Nature’s Domain, 29.
    • Fromm, 24.
    • Merrick, 16.
    • California Natural, 15.
    • Natural Balance, 15.
    • Orijen, 12.
    • Nature’s Variety, 11.
    • NutriSource 10.
    • Nutro, 10.
    • Rachael Ray Nutrish, 10."

I don't know how the numbers correlate with quantity of test subjects.
I've been using "Nutro" for 8-10 years.

I feed Nature’s Variety Instinct RAW.

While the report says it is mostly dry food that is suspected of causing the problem, the raw does contain sweet potato, which is common to both NV’s dry and raw products.

Hard to find anything you can trust these days, including the FDA, but it’s worth trying to find out more about the study and what research methods were used.

    Thanks for the heads up!
