Today someone told me it was not legal to carry one in the chamber while concealed carrying in Texas. I was under the impression that it was.(I wouldn't want to carry any other way) Was wondering if someone could clear this up.
    Thanks

    All over the world
saying I'll chamber one when I need it is the exact same as saying I'll put my seat belt on when I see the other guy run the red light.

Yes it is legal to have one in the chamber in Texas if you have your CHL otherwise CC is illegal with or without a round in the chamber.

    That's a great analogy!

My coworker said a CHL teacher told him so. I told him the teacher could still be wrong and to show me where it states we cant carry with a round in the chamber.

Carrying a firearm WITHOUT having a round in the chamber, firearm becomes nothing more than an ammunition shortage device

Ask him where he took his CHL class and who the instructor was. Nothing like taking a class and being fed a bunch of bs.

Some states you can't carry in a vehicle loaded, or even with a loaded magazine in the pistol.

    This, though, is a first.

go back to him and tell him thanks for the good advice and that you also found out that they just passed a law where you have to yell "DON'T MAKE ME SHOOT YOU!" , 3 times prior to firing you gun in defense

RiceKrispie, after you educate your coworker, feel free to send them here to learn the truth about the law. EVERYONE is wrong about something at some point. It doesn't have to be about belittling them, just educating them.

Your co-worker is wrong, whomever it was that told him that is wrong, and if it was, in fact, a CHL instructor, that person should not be allowed to have anything to do with teaching any firearms class! Texas law has never, at least in the past 30 years, made any distinction between a gun being unloaded or loaded, even when Texas had no such thing as a CHL. Your co-worker is utterly and completely wrong.

    Very good point.

Although, I'm not sure if they would make it long here before being belittled.
