This is where I see us heading. Either into a hard left socialism or some nationalist fasicsm.
I see no inclination to a hard right in this country at all. That said Obama exhibits some strong tendencies to supporting fascism. The prime exception is his lack of a positive nationalist view.

That said, IMO and I am not alone its a hard stretch to label fascism as a hard right ideology. If you look at the accepted definition: Governmental system led by adictator having complete power, forcibly suppressing oppositionand criticism, regimenting all industry, commerce, etc., and emphasizing an aggressive nationalism and often racism.

This is where the liberals like to hang their hat of it being hard right and like typical liberals when they hear opposing facts and truisms they do what???? Yep, PLAY THE RACE CARD! Meaning if you are a racist then you must be hard right. The US is made up of 57 states and while we all are Americans there will never come a day I will not be a Texan, remember the Alamo and give up my roots.

In order for this country to go hard right or even right at this time in history it will take a radical occurrence and at the level needed there won't be much to hang on to at that time. We are way into the left zone now and I expect we could go hard left into a full socialist state in the next election (2016). Keying up is Elizabeth Warren, a HARD LEFT nut job, I am predicting her running mate will be Julian Castro another HARD LEFT. If they win we lose. Sadly the GOP which has drifted so far to the left now in order try and capture the minority vote will cave on almost anyone who can restore this country.

I don't think it matters whether drugs are "good" or "bad" for people, the government has no business telling me what I can and cannot put in my body. Whether it be a double bacon burger, a fine single malt, a nice hand rolled Cuban, or even some pot. Combine that with a national drug policy that costs the nation billions to reduce drug importation by sub 10% and I think the choice is obvious.

That being said, I don't use any drugs because regardless of personal opinion they are currently illegal.

The one area that is hands off IMO is for real cancer patients. Having watched my entire family die due to cancer and seeing the pain and agony they went thru, IMO if a cancer patient wants it then we give it to them...

Not only that, there is a significant body of evidence indicating that it halts or even reverses tumor growth. It may even be more effective than carbohydrate restriction.

The war on drugs has only enriched the cartels and corrupted officials and turned the police into a para military force.. It is working as well as prohibition.

I am glad that I work in an industry that does not allow the use or abuse of any substance. We are regularly random tested. Some jobs are dangerous enough without adding substances that impair your judgment. Making any substance that screws up your ability to function safely socially acceptable is just lame. I understand and agree with the use of any substance for medical reasons. But recreational use of those substances is juvenile and just dumb. Yes I drink alcohol. But as a friend of mines father told me in my 20's "I don't play with my post toasties, why would I play with my beverages"
