I don't miss VHS tapes having tracking problems and rewinding them before returning them.

I remember riding bikes to friends houses and playing Super Nintendo. I remember trespassing to the good swimming holes that my buddies found and having my dad pick me up. Also major thanks to the guys for not calling the cops on us making epic rope swings and tons of noise.

Remember swimming holes in creeks that were hidden from the road?
Remember hearing that that's where your dad and his friends used to go?

We built rope swings all the time in high school. Mostly under bridges and big live oaks.

I miss rock fights and shooting turtles with a single shot 22 and cci shorts.

    I miss:
Stealing watermelons, they taste best when stolen.

Sitting in a truck tube in the water with a slice of watermelon that we had tied down in the bottom of a pond where the ice cold springs were and eating it with seeds and juice running down our faces and arms, then roll over and wash it all off.

Swimming in every stock tank, and lake in the county.

That reminds me- I don't miss leaches. Leaches suck.

I miss full service gas stations. The old Belton high school football stadium. A store called 'Petersons'...25 cent long neck Big Red.

A Mongouse 20" bicycle, and a hot Texas day. I miss the old lady that would play the piano. That could hear from the street.

I miss every dog I've had.

I miss when $5 bucks was a week full of gas.

I miss the pecan trees of home. The stock pond I fished for crawdads in. All summer long.

I miss the smell of the fresh turned dirt of my dad's garden. Watching the chickens peck the soil behind the tiller.

I miss being able to walk for miles....surrounded by cedar trees.

I miss the old cars, I played in like spaceships, in the very back of the field. There smell too. Old Sun baked chevys.

I miss running trout lines with a friend.

I miss seeing huge catfish heads sitting on an old fence post.

I miss the bright lights switch on the floor.

    I miss Tom Landry.

    I miss night rider(but I don't want it back)

I miss watching fog over a pasture.

I miss the stars of west Texas.

I miss seeing my dad eat a big red float.

I miss the diesel smell of a Cat G12 blade, as it starts in the morning.

I miss being under 30 years old.
Hell, I miss being under 45 years old.

If we knew then what we do now.....

I wouldn't have race a fellow student on the way to auto shop......wrecking my first Ford truck. I doubt I would have played life any safer if I hadn't wreck....

YOU can say that again, another one of my hero's, finest Pro Football coach to ever set foot on a field. Tom changed the game, he gave it CLASS and Jerry Jones gave it AZZ!

I have a football signed by Tom Landry, Roger Staubach and Ed 'To Tall' Jones

As a little boy the talk of the town was a Rolls Royce Tom had bought. It sat at a place in Temple that did the old metal window tint shades. It was silver.

I can still see his car. It was the most expensive ride in all of Bell County.

The smell of a fresh summer rain on hot asphalt. It smelled great. Now it smells like sewer.

Racing my BMX bicicle down "death hill"!

The thousands of feet of skin I left at the bottom of death hill.

    Red dirt roads.

My dad always left the keys in the ignition of the car.

We left the windows and doors open at night.

Box fans in the window blowing in the early morning dew.

Sprite in the green tinted glass bottles.

    Not having a schedule.
