Shorts, for you that would be a .22 derringer.... in yer purse.... MG
You can carry an AR15 pistol with a 250 round Beta Mag if you can hide it.
I would not want to try to explain that one to a Grand Jury though...
Only handguns can be carried concealed (with license). Rifles and shotguns dont fall under that category but may be carried out in the open. Doesnt matter how big your pistol is, if its legally considered a pistol then you can carry it concealed. Also, no limit as to how many you can conceal at one time.
I would say it's arguably irrelevant. At least for "handgun". I'm not aware of any legal definition for "pistol".Pistols don't require a front grip correct?
IMO, having a front grip makes it not a handgun, but I don't have any precedent to cite.(5) "Handgun" means any firearm that is designed, made, or adapted to be fired with one hand.
Did they do away with the ".380 rule"?Texas law does not address the caliber or size of the handgun you can carry.
The only time .380 applies is when you take the course. After that, you can legally carry a .17 if you so desire.
Did they do away with the ".380 rule"?

Rifles and shotguns can be carried concealed too.Rifles and shotguns dont fall under that category but may be carried out in the open.
