Hopefully you got him straightened out, because I might have the same problem. I sent him some computer parts a month ago and the check is supposed to have been in the mail. I phoned him a couple days ago and he emailed me and says he put a check in the mail today. We'll see.

But I do have his work phone and place of employment, his apt address, roommate's name, his Mom and Dad's address and phone #, info on the HS, jr college, and college his Dad attended, the names/addresses/phone #'s of some other relatives, his birthday and place of birth, his myspace site, his Mom's myspace site, and maybe some other info . . .

    I'll report back.

<sigh> If you don't have the check by Monday, call him and ask him if he'd rather have another personal visit, or just send the money as promised. Just lemme know....

I certainly do appreciate the offer, sir. I owe you a beer just for making the offer!

man, this POS is in for a world of hurt....

what parts did you send him...?

Computer guts - motherboard, CPU, RAM, CD-RW, etc. @ $150. Older stuff, certainly not top of the line, but still. . .

    wow guys.
i deserved most of that i suppose.

this is a pulic apology, to all involved in the holiday clusterfuck of 2009.

i am no theif, and no scammer. i was simply having a hell of a time. i know we all have alot going on during this time of year, and i am not going to bother making excuses. the fact of the matter is, i messed up. Luckily billy badass (no offense) did his best to intimidate me at my own doorstep, and very nearly succeeded i might add, that is a hell of a moustache 'dude'. -- I notice that he failed to mention that when he asked for it, i took two steps back, and picked it up off the shelf by the door, packaged and ready for the P.O. not allowing any sort of room in his mind, that maybe, jsut maybe it wasnt wrapped in bubbl wrap and paper and in a shipping box for any other reaon than my personal amusement.

(obviously someone intent on ripping another person off, would pack the device ready to amil at any moment, so if the person cam looking he could mail it off to his safety deposit box in canada!)

also id like to thank timberwolf for not jumping to conclusions, though im sure his imagination was running wild especialy after reading a thread like this one.
(btw it was the wrong address, not the USPS, another one that was all me)

    anyway im getting off topic.

TexasRedneck - you are a good guy and i respect you for standing for truth jsutice and the american way (no sarcasm)

HighCap - You got your low end card for some low end ammo - and it took a while.
sorry it took so long, but what can i say? it did.
It was my fault plain and simple.
And to answer your question, the miscommunication was between my father and i. i was going to have him drop it in the mail for me, so i could avoid walking to the P.O. via freshly injured leg.

edit * - again i want to stress, that i am not attempting to make excuses - merely answering your question and perhaps shedding a little light on the situation.

    sincerely and with regret--

understood. im back at work now though, and this is where i get to do my internet stuff. i should have been more specific. but it is kindof embarassing getting wanged by a car twice in one year.

it has beena good year to be a pedestrian - i healed up pretty quick, but that car would have been expesnive to fix.

    dang holiday drivers ;)

but again you are totally right.

No sir - you deserve all of it.

NOW you're coming back on track.

i am no theif, and no scammer. i was simply having a hell of a time. i know we all have alot going on during this time of year, and i am not going to bother making excuses. the fact of the matter is, i messed up.

Yes, you did. And frankly, by simply coming here and saying that, you did the best thing you could do in my eyes. Look - we all screw up. The issue becomes one of what we do once we do. You could have just never shown back up here again, and that woulda been that. Instead, you came back in, took a deep breath and said "here I am". I can respect that. Understand - I'm still ticked at ya, but I'm NOT mad at ya. And ticked cures with time and actions.

Actually, I told High-Cap 1911 in my email to him that it was already packaged. Didn't in the general post, and should have. Guess part of me was pissed b/c of the extra steps involved in resolving what should have been a simple transaction.

(obviously someone intent on ripping another person off, would pack the device ready to amil at any moment, so if the person cam looking he could mail it off to his safety deposit box in canada!)

Okay - so riddle me this....if it was so ready to mail, why didn't you?? At least a phone call to the guy who lived up to his end of the bargain would've been nice. Stand back and look at it from his perspective. You did a good thing by saying "I screwed up" - don't negate it by offering excuses even you know are weak. Because even though you say you're not trying to make excuses, you are - don't. They denigrate the good thing you're doing by simply apologizing and trying to move on.

Now....I know I've been hard on ol' Hanz - but as my boys will tell ya, that's the way I am. When ya screw up, say it, fix it and move on. He has. I would suggest he owes the first round at the next get-together, and we call it "good".

Today is the first I've seen this. I'm a little disappointed and surprised that a long time member would be involved in something like this. Has the other transaction gone through yet or is that still pending? I'd definitely say there is something to be said for showing back up and taking responsibility for your screw up though. Oh well.

We all make mistakes.........some learn from them........others don't. Sounds like Hanz is one of those that learned from his mistake and with the public apology is headed in the right direction again. Time heals most wounds like this!

BC, that's my point on this. Hanz coulda just ducked, but instead he came back and apologized. No matter what, that took guts.
No doubt he did the right thing by coming back and saying sorry. I'm not saying it didn't take guts either. I just thought I'd throw my pennies in here to insure they were counted. LOL!

No doubt. Everybody has something come up at the worst possible time some just handle it better than others. Unless the second time he was hit by a car and was in the hospital was during the time he was to be mailing the video card hooch-a-dodad is the reason there could have been a phone call or an email or a text message, smoke signal, or anything other than nothing. But as you said it has been handled and TexasRedneck did a good job taking care of it I'm sure in the most polite manner possible. And I have met TN he aint small. LOL!

I have been following this one since its start.
I have to give wolfwood a kudo for standing up and taking his licks.
I also have to give one to TexasRedneck for doing his part.

    Now, the big question....

Did Y'all shake hands and smile at each other?
