    Helotes!
I've heard Walmart managers get to determine if their stores carry firearms/ammo or not. Also, they stopped carrying "assault rifles" last year; but they said that was a business decision and not a political one. Given that they still carry hunting rifles and shotguns, as well as ammo, I tend to agree.

Otherwise, I have never seen any rhetoric from that company that would leave me to believe they are anti-gun...

Opened carried in my local Walmart today, nobody ran away screaming. Most people probably didn't notice or cared. I did had one young lady ask about my carry pistol and said she was glad to see someone carrying.

    Same.

The Wally World next to my house has a bunch of brand new signs up pretty much saying "It's illegal to carry a gun here unless you have a license." I laughed at that one. We need more absolute nothing gun policies like that! Much better played than HEB.

Why is it so important to open carry while pushing a shopping cart down a lane to pick up milk, bread, cereal and maybe some beer?

Let's see, December 31st 2015 HEB only allows conceal carry, January 1st 2016 they only allow conceal carry. So what's the deal? I seriously don't get it. Again I am all for supporting open carry as it's legal now but it's not allowed everywhere and I am fine with it. Just put a jacket on as you run into the store or place where it's not allowed.

I heard 2 guys chatting at the range and to them it was all about "Hey, look at what I have strapped to my side everyone!!" They discussed what holster they will wear, magazine locations, one will wear a drop leg holster!! How friggin ridiculous will that look? You can't comfortably sit and drive with a drop leg on, beside it getting hung up on everything!

What does open carry do that conceal carry doesn't? I have talked with people who think the law means ANYONE can now open carry a gun without a license. They look at me like I am stupid when I tell them they are wrong.

Before I get flamed, I am very much pro-gun but if some business says conceal is just fine but does not allow open carry I can't see the logic in being upset nor boycotting them. If a business does not allow conceal carry I do not give them my business and go elsewhere.

Because it's a constitutional right that is now having to be "won" back? Also won't it be kinda hot during the summer with your jacket as you run into HEB with your shorts and flip flops running into the store?

I probably won't OC either but it's a right I have fought to protect and I will not spend my money in a store or elsewhere that will not allow me to exercise that right if I can at all avoid it.

Yes, very much so. I spend a great deal of money locally here on guns, ammo, supplies. I am searching for land now to open a training facility. So yes, very pro-gun.

Your logic would say because I do not see the logic in a place of business denying open carry I am deceitful in stating I am "pro-gun"?

So you never conceal carry in the heat of the summer?

Think about that. I fully agree with your right to boycott any place for them denying your right to open carry. My point is that for me personally nothing has changed because I never intended to open carry. My beef is with places that deny conceal carry and I choose to not spend money there

I didn't say I don't conceal carry. I said I will probably never open carry. I said your throw a jacket over the open carry solution is wrong. I personally will avoid them whether it's them choosing to ban concealed or open carry regardless of my chosen method of carry

Apparently not because if you did you would not support businesses who don't support it.

This kind of logic makes me laugh. Let's use your method of thinking like this...

I don't support gay marriage yet I have no issue buying goods at a store owned by homosexuals. I have a business and have no issue taking money from those of a different political view even though I do not support their party nor their political views.

One may also argue, "I hate illegal immigrants coming in and stealing our jobs!" While they hire a business that uses illlegal aliens to care for their lawns, perhaps do house keeping or makes their breakfast tacos.

It's your opinion I do not support open carry based on flawed thinking, not based on logic but rather emotion. So again, open carry is perfectly fine and legal were allowed. Since I prefer HEB over Walmart (Walmart checking out sucks big time) and since HEB is not 2 blocks from my house, since I have shopped there for 14 years I shall continue spending my money there. Now if they make the store a "NO CARRY" period then I take issue with that but till then I do not allow it to bother me.

Lastly, if I did not patronize all the places that deny "open carry" I would be down to just a few choices for shopping and eating.

My personal choice is to not open carry even if I am allowed (gun range and/or training excluded), this is because of safety concerns I have personally.

    Yeah, keep telling yourself that.

You're no different from the Fudds that "fully support the 2A" except for xxx type of gun because they don't use or need it.

Dude, chill out. So some dude on the Internet doesn't agree with you. So what? There's nothing you can or will do about it. Everybody else has figured it out and moved on, why don't you?
