He wants us to think he knows the Director of DPS well enough to call him directly; however, he apparently does not even know what the Colonel's last name actually is.
Steve McGraw is an SPD officer I went to high school with. In fact he's the one who got me interested in getting a CHL in the first place. Any questions I've had in the past, he's been able to answer. This is no different.

As is often the case, police officers are not always the best subject matter experts when it comes to interpreting the law.

well it would appear that being a RSO does not mean an automatic denial of an LTC
I still have to wonder if the guy isn't a felon though. The long term supervised probation and life time regisration required by the court makes me think it wasn't a hand slap

Could be he was a minor when the offense was committed, hence the extra long probation might have been the heaviest punishment they could give.

I know of a guy through a friend who has had dealings with him. He is a convicted sex offender. He is on the DPS website
his victim was a 15 year old girl. It says he had 8 years of supervised probation but he has to register for life
he has current pictures on there from last year

so my friend says he saw him in town OCing

so either he has a LTC or he is OCing without one.

is it possble that he is not a felon? how can this be legal otherwise?

Was the charge listed? My brother found out, through the RSO that a man that lives across the street from our house is on the list and the charge (possession of child pornography) was listed.
