It was sold to me as a .22LR. Well,,,, it ain't. Only got the cylinder in it. Turns out to be .22 magnum. I'm ok with that.

Yeah that is what I thought. Got it home and went to clean it. Noticed lead line in the cylinder. Got to looking, tried a round and it dropped right in. Just for grins I tried a .22lr cylinder for my Heritage and it was no go. Lucky me, I guess I have another unicorn.

Got it cleaned up last night. Doesn't look it. It it was, it is a damned good job. Even my Heritage revolvers have a slight shoulder in the .22magnum cylinders. The ones in the Ruger look better than they do. Even by calibrated eyeball. I really was wanting more of a plinker, but still am totally thrilled with it. Everything seems tight, silky smooth and the cylinder lines up nice on lockup. Not to mention the patina on it goes really nice with the holster.

I took the grandson to the range today. His first time to ever fire a real handgun.

So, I started him out with the Single Six. Right?

He popped a couple boxes of .22LR and was actually starting to show some nice groups.

So, I stepped it up a little and put the .22Mag cylinder in there.

He loved it. The fireball and noise made it that much more fun.

He captured this from a slo motion video he shot...

Can anyone give me average price for a Ruger Single Six 3screw. A friend is considering selling his to mebbut I am not sure what the average going price for them is. He bought it new in 1959, still looks mostly new and has less than 200 rounds through it.
    Thanks.

A clean unmolested three screw with both cylinders seems to go for around 3-4 hundred around here. Depending mostly on how bad do you want it, I think.
