The popular history tends to leave out all the rebellions whose ragtag shadetree groups can hold their own against a much more powerful and better equipped tyrannical government. Hell, sometimes they don't even need guns. And we have guns.

Is it really thumbing your nose if the gun stays buried in a sealed pvc tube in a state park somewhere? Or locked forever in a safe because taking it to a range would get you dimed in a heartbeat?

Who says they are. Many were pretty vocal about having not turned anything in or complying.

Alcohol was banned nationwide and people were still getting wasted, not just hiding liqueur in PVC tubes buried in the state parks. Americans find ways of doing what they want.

My question is, who is going to "come take yer guns"? The vast majority of the police, military, feds, etc will not follow that order. Just another article to get hits on the net and make a little money.

Horse shit. You think our founders and the original revolutionaries weren't risking it all? A man is only a slave as long as he has things you can take away from him. Take everything, and you'll find he is free again. A lot of people won't even wait until that point.

Our govt. has a very poor record of fighting unconventional/urban warfare. Doing it against its own people is a risk I doubt even they'e be foolish enough to take.

The author is projecting because he knows he is a pushover and can't handle the thought of braver men than him existing. If everyone else is a coward that makes it okay for him to be one, too.
If the govt and sniveling weenies like the author think I'm not willing to go to war for freedom they must have forgotten I was willing to do so for a mere paycheck.

    That would start a rebellion.

my thoughts exactly. Americans on American soil taking guns and killing a few that fought back would cause a ruckus with hard core gun owners. Foreigners on American soil taking guns and Killing Americans that fought back would cause all out war where a lot more than hard core gun owners would fight back.

There is a point where you have to draw a line in the sand and say no more, or admit your too much of a coward to fight for your rights and give them up. Should we ever reach that point, we will know who deserves those rights, and who deserves the government they have. I don't like that "we've already lost" attitude, because we damn sure haven't. It's already been proven that people are willing to fight.

I value my rights and the rights of my countrymen above my life. I would hope enough of you cared enough about your rights to do the same. You all damn sure bitch about your rights being trampled on enough. Either you care about them, or you don't. If your not prepared to fight for your rights should the government become truly tyrannical, then you don't deserve them.

If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude greater than the animating contest for freedom, go home from us in peace. We seek not your counsel, nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you; and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen. - Samuel Adams

There wasn't much of that during Katrina. Then again, the political atmosphere wasn't the same as today.

I'm not going to read through three pages of comments so this may have already been brought up, but here's my thought-

They may be able to track if you're buying AR parts and guns through dealers, but they still aren't going to be able to track cash transactions through friends which do happen plenty, and there's not a high percentage of people who buy stuff to trick out their pistols or shotguns so that's still a large percentage of guns that they don't know about. One thing that WILL hurt people if this were to play out (and I'm guilty of this myself) is people who take pictures of their guns to brag about their new purchase or add on. But, the NSA is still a government organization which is something the government has never been great at - organization. Overall, I think this conspiracy theory has about 60% accuracy. It's one of the better ones I've seen for sure.

I've already got my plan for if things fall, and no I'm not going into them on the internet. Even if your plan isn't the greatest, everyone should have a base plan for something like this and then you just make adjustments as you go.

different situation with a completely different set of folks. Much more localized, lack of info getting out, and in the middle of a natural disaster. I just don't see it happening on a national level.

That's because I wasn't there. I'll tell you right now if I was one of those two dudes on a boat in the middle of nowhere who had their guns confiscated by those two cops (with no receipts given), there would have been at least two corpses. That was not only clear theft but the moral equivalent of tying a rattlesnake's mouth shut then tossing it in a vulture's den.

Worst case scenario if this sort of confiscation might just be separation of states. All those with gun sense will migrate to Texas or similar states. The Feds couldn't stop it, and it's our duty to keep the federal govt small enough to never be able to. What was that civilian federal police force bullshit Obama was talking about?

I have read Barry has spent the last 8 years weeding out Military Officers that say they won't fire on Americans. Or lean towards Christianity.

    Shot placement is everything.

I see a lot of FFLs having storage room fires if they start using the 4473 to track down gun owners on scale.
