well constitutional carry is a no go this year but the bill for reduced LTC cost passed so Abbott just needs to sign it. we will have to wait nother 4 years for the constitutional carry bill to get re-proposed we need to contact our reps to make sure they know we support the bills it's the only way for these bills to the governor's desk we will prevail!

Get ready snowflake, were abandoning you first.

There is no we, only you. We're in it for the long haul no matter how hard the fight is. You seem to wuss out and bitch about how hard it is every time you meet a little resistance.

BTW, weren't you supposed to be moving out of state because you got fed up with our mostly lax gun laws and thought the surfing wasn't good enough for you here?

Once a saw the reduced fee bill introduced I kinda thought constitutional carry would fail. It's unfortunate but not the end of the world.

Any word on a Special Session this year? (He asked with hope in his heart) After all they were very busy with their fluff do nothing agenda, maybe the king of fluffy feel good do nothing legislation (Hey Abbott!) will decide to do something this season. My guy Brisco Cain took to FaceBook to crow about introducing 2 new bills, the Thursday before it was too late. I guess he thought they are sent for a vote by majic.

Abbot was supposed to announce something today but pushed it back until next week.

Everybody in Austin is so proud to be making us pay less for our Constitutional rights. We would get action if they put a price on the First Amendment.

A special session can only address the specific items the Governor says. I didn't hear him wanting constitutional carry on his list.

    I don't think that's true:

Can the Legislature consider any topic during a special session?
No. Article 3, Section 40 of the Texas Constitution states that when the Legislature is convened in special session, there shall be no legislation upon subjects other than those designated in the proclamation of the Governor calling such session, or presented to them by the Governor. An extensive discussion of this issue can be found in the appendix to the Senate Rules of the 82nd Legislature.

And if Greg does not it is proof beyond a reasonable doubt that he is an establishment weenie and has no balls whatsoever. He stated he would sign a Constitutional Carry bill if it reached his desk. (Probably) knowing it would not. Lower than a slug is a slug that lies. The fact that one POS is better than another POS still leaves you with a POS. Show us you gotta pair. We already know your LT Gov does not.

If you lay down and give up you are correct. Thanks snowflake

Lay down and give up? Snowflake? Really?

Did you call your reps with support for HB375/1911? Did you post status updates on your social media accounts asking people to call in and support these bills? Did you contact Todd Hunter's office asking to put these bills on the floor for a vote before they died? Did you support Constitutional Carry even though it would directly effect your income as an LTC instructor?
I've been paying attention to the legislative sessions for the past 4-6 years, and not once has a special session been created for gun rights nor has a bill in special session been amended to include gun rights text in that time. It aint happening this year either. Abbott is just a republican - only gonna push gun rights as far as needed to keep the majority of his constituents happy - and SB16 did that.

I suggest you use the term "snowflake" when you actually know something about the person you are calling out.

The answer is yes to all your did I questions. Still am, I reply to most of Abbotts posts with a question about Constitutional Carry and a special session. I chose not to be a snowflake and lie down in the grass and whine about how it's not gonna happen. Maybe it won't, but not because I quit before the season ended. I just sent his office a report from Michigan where they just approved CC in their legislature.
Don't know you, just basing my opinion on your words since you know Abbotts mind already. Maybe I'll renounce the snowflake moniker as its political and you are a know it all quitter. But then what's the difference.
I don't need or want to know you

I apologize for the offending remarks. I have spent a lot of time on Constitutional Carry. And I too am afraid it's out for awhile. But while there is a chance I feel it's worth the effort. CC would help solidify gun rights in America. The 16 states that passed it during or before the last administration are so very much to be commended for speaking states rights to power. I so want Texas to stand tall in front. But that's not the case. While Texas is great, on gun rights we are a malingerer and an also ran. Abbott dropped the ball and has one last chance to pick it up again. Instead I read (the forum) here that Obama was a better President than Reagan. With that sort of establishment gun support we may be doomed as the brainwashing is working. Again sorry for jumping on your case. Reagan gave some to get some, time proved it was a bad choice. Abbott just talks and fails to do anything real. Allowing me to pay less for my 2nd amendment rights is pandering not progress. I hear there are some readers here that have ears in Austin, if so make them listen. I best stop before I get adamant again.
