I’ve passed on many a good gun that I’d REALLY like to have but refused to buy them because the seller required a bill of sale.

    I’m out on that stupidity.

Yeah....you want a BOS with my personal info on it....you ain't selling to me. You wanna see my LTC or DL? I'm good with that. You wanna record any of the info from it? KMA. A BOS has ZERO legal standing in court - all it does is give someone that breaks into your place a list of where other guns are.

Maybe move out of the Watergate hotel or stop daydreaming so much?

The police stopped by here about ten minutes ago asking about a Ruger SR9c I pawned a year or two ago. All they would tell me is it was found at a crime scene. TG I remembered where I sold it and the business will have records!! It pisses me off that some A-hole douche bag could have caused me some serious problems!!
This is my fear about selling to an individual where the gun is registered in my name with ATF. How do you prove you actually sold it.

You miss the point. If I buy a gun/rifle/pistol from an individual I will not sign a bill of sale nor will you see my ID. I buy from an individual so it can't be traced to me if gun confiscation ever occurs. They can't take what they don't know I have. My gun inventory is marked as to which I have bought on a 4473. The rest are not traceable. If I were to sell one it would be the same deal, I get green, you get gun. If it's later used in a crime it's up to them to prove I still owned it and more importantly I used it in the crime. My word against theirs.

If you want a bill of sale and a look at my ID we can't do business. End of story

I would like to go to a gun show but they are no longer in Austin, or if they are I never see it advertised. Saxet was here all the time then all of a sudden I never see them anymore.

Why do you need to prove anything ?

They have to prove you did the crime. Its not your fault some asshat used a gun you sold in a crime.
