What that link doesn’t show is Trump telling them to keep the ‘fix NICS’ bill separate from the reciprocity bill because the reciprocity bill doesn’t stand a chance in the senate. They showed that on the CBS news tonight.

Look at Feinstein in that clip - I didn’t know an 84 yo woman could even have an orgasm! Trump is beginning to look like a fish out of water, flopping around all over the place!

I think the gun community has turned into the chicken little community.

Trump was talking he said some disturbing things. He definitely threw bump stocks under the buss not so much with AWB

More of a "stick that in your pipe and smoke it", I think.

Kinda like, "good luck with that".
I hope you are right about the context of what he said yesterday

I have been reading lots of different takes on what he said at that meeting.

Frankly he has me pretty pissed off at him right now.
As a Benefactor Life Member of the NRA, I am sending an extra gift today with a note saying get the message to President Trump to keep his promise on the 2nd Amendment

I also have been commenting on every facebook post from President Trump, no matter what the post is about I am posting the same reply in the comment

Maybe he is just screwing with the DEMS, but he had better not make a fool out of me for supporting him

You need to watch it or read it yourself. He was open to it but shut down even mentioning National Reciprocity.

I read it. I just don't trust one source saying something when there is no other confirmation.

I watched it, but did not hear him say it.

One thing everyone should have learned about Trump by now. Pay less attention to what he says and more attention to what he does.

And remember, the White House does not pass legislation.

oldag, I am paying very close attention to what he does. And a quarter of his term has gone by and construction of “the wall” has yet to begin. [No second term is assured.... especially if he walks out on “the one(s) who brung ya”]. He promised Americans the border wall will be built (“don’t worry, it’ll get done, that I can promise you”).

If he ‘flip flops’ on his support of The Second, then he will be a one term president and will have done irreparable harm to the GOP brand. He said he was going to write an Executive Order (EO) outlawing bump stocks. That’s legislating by executive fiat. Personally, I could care less about bump stocks BUT in the vein of “shall not infringe”, this is clearly an infringement! I’m with the GOA on this: DO NOT give an inch!

How about giving the man credit for what he has done?? Rolled back many, many onerous regulations. Appointed an excellent judge to SCOTUS, and excellent judges to many other posts. Cut taxes. Opened up drilling and pipelines. Pulled us out of the Paris Accord, etc. etc.

His term is not over. And in case you did not know, the WH can't pass or fund legislation (e.g., the wall).

No president will every do every single thing that any individual wants.

oldag, since you directed that reply to me, I would suggest you have a look at several of my past postings; I have given Pres. Trump many credits for what he’s accomplished so far. Probability most recently, one most people seem to have forgotten: his curtailment of the expansive land grab the Obama administration was trying to accomplish in the name of ‘national parks’ (perhaps Trump’s earliest and best coup, IMO); Bear Ears and Grand Staircase parks in Utah. So yes, I do give credit WHERE credit is due - just saw an increase to take home pay due to HIS tax cuts!

And I’ll remind you: the WH isn’t going to pay for the wall, Mexico is! This is one promise if he doesn’t keep, will come back to bite him in the a$$.

Well he is the President and as the President its kind of his Obligation to listen to and rub dicks with all the congress critters.Kind of like rubbing dicks with Putin we will never be allies but its kind of nice to be on talking terms with them.

Nobody said he hasn’t gotten anything done it’s what he’s doing and hasn’t done yet that’s drawing attention

I have been around long enough to know that if a President tries to keep his promises and is able to keep a majority of them, well he has done better than 90% of those who occupied the Oval Office.

Not a president yet has kept every single promise. Unrealistic expectation.

I think it’s fair to have the expectation of a president to keep his promise on what was a *major* linchpin of his presidential campaign. As he himself noted many times during his campaign, no one was talking about the illegal immigration situation before he brought it up. So to expect the wall to be built is certainly NOT an unrealistic expectation.

And I might add, his support for the Second Amendment during his campaign was also relatively pronounced. If he starts back peddling on that now, he will find himself in serious trouble with his base.
