    Didn't see Troy mentioned. Also Venus, and the area on 35W between Alvarado and Grandview is really bad. Most of the time it's highway patrol, so the local revenue restriction goes out the window.

    As long as you are within 5 mph of the limit in the 75 zone, you won't have any problems on I35W. Alavarado, Itasca and DPS do work that stretch pretty good, as you noted.

    Go through Tenaha almost monthly.
    Sundays seem to be the worst day now for the cops, strangely enough.
    You gotta have been around Texas awhile to remember this:

    You need to pay a bit more attention. The reason they work it is because Itasca is in the 75 mph zone, but it drops to 70 mph in Grandview, so the Grandview to Alvarado stretch is where they catch the folks doing 80 because they used to be within 5 mph.

    Itasca has always patrolled heavy, even before the 75 limit. Just a lonely stretch of road where folks get in a hurry I guess.

    And the reason that stretch is 70? Couldn't possibly be to garner more revenue.

    Looks like somebody called the Teague PD and spoke to the chief. Nothing too exciting but it sounds like they are claiming the 5.56 ammo is armor piercing and illegal under state law.

    I'd bet there is a history with this guy and this department.

    It's highly unlikely it's AP, but they are going to make him fight it. Wonder what led to this.

    1. Chief never should have taken this call. He just wrote a blank check to the plaintiff.

    2. I spoke with the City Administrator last night. She's expecting OCT to protest on Main Street tomorrow. I told her OCT was dealing with another matter, but they would probably be here in about a month. She also said that she is a strong 2A supporter. I reminded her that this was a 4A matter. She looked puzzled. I left it at that.

    Pay more attention to what? My statements were all accurate. You need to improve your reading comprehension.

    First, if you stay within 5 mph of the 75 limit, you will be okay. {Once it drops to 70 (at the county line, south of Grandview if you want to get picky), you may get away with a little more than 5 mph depending upon how the officer is doing on his quota that month.}

    Itasca, Alvarado and DPS do patrol I35W pretty heavily.

    Gunz are icky.
    If I'm remembering correctly, it was Iowa Colony that triggered the lawsuit that shut down a lot of those speed traps.

    Wow. What I got from that is the Chief will make the decision as to whether or not your 100% legal by every definition possessions are grounds to ruin your life over.

    There is no room in a free society for petty fiefdoms run by hamster dick tyrants.

    Disband every municipal police department in towns under 10,000 population.

    Re: AP ammo
    5.56 AP would not be illegal by Texas law. Direct excerpts from Texas code follow. Teague Police Chief is wrong on this.

    TITLE 10. OFFENSES AGAINST PUBLIC HEALTH, SAFETY, AND MORALS
    CHAPTER 46. WEAPONS
    Sec. 46.01. DEFINITIONS.
    "(12) "Armor-piercing ammunition" means handgun ammunition that is designed primarily for the purpose of penetrating metal or body armor and to be used principally in pistols and revolvers."

    Sec. 46.05. PROHIBITED WEAPONS.
    Text of subsection as amended by Acts 2017, 85th Leg., R.S., Ch. 155 (H.B. 1819), Sec. 1
    (a) A person commits an offense if the person intentionally or knowingly possesses, manufactures, transports, repairs, or sells:
    (1) any of the following items, unless the item is registered in the National Firearms Registration and Transfer Record maintained by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives or otherwise not subject to that registration requirement or unless the item is classified as a curio or relic by the United States Department of Justice:
    (A) an explosive weapon;
    (B) a machine gun; or
    (C) a short-barrel firearm;
    (2) knuckles;
    (3) armor-piercing ammunition;

    No, actually it's entering a more populated zone. It stays 70 from Grandview all the way up North until you pass the Metromess.
