    The Woodlands, Tx.
Less than 2 miles from my house.
Road that cuts through the Woodlands golf course.

Not my pic, but I saw it on the side of the road going home.

    I know.
    Don't get me started.
Mountain lion has been spotted twice by police in San Marcos this week.
    No chance for it.
    Predators get no love.

Puma, mountain lion, cougar, catamount, panther. No matter what you call them, they are a fascinating story. Their ability to survive in close proximity to humans is far greater than most people realize. A few quotes from Scientific American:
Cougars once lived throughout most of the U.S. and Canada but state-sponsored bounties put in place to protect livestock and humans from what were often deemed "undesirable predators" led to the cats' extermination in the east and Midwest.
But now the cats are returning to and repopulating some of their former Midwest habitats,...
The Midwest might not be the cougars' final stop in their habitat re-expansion. Last year a male cougar traveled at least 2,400 kilometers from South Dakota to Connecticut before being killed by an SUV.
They're on their way back, folks.

Well, in a fowl mood now.
I got a letter from Cochlear telling me about the Nucleus 7 upgrade. (I have the 6)
I figured I'd be ok considering I just got it in October and am still in the mapping process.
Unfortunately, that's not the case. Our night manager here at Seton (who has a 12 year old with bilateral implants) said it's mandatory because they are discontinuing the 6.
Dammit! I'm still trying to pay off $6,000 in copayments from the surgery. Now this??!!
