How much ammo do you carry when you C.C. ?

What do you feel is a reasonable minimum for "most places, most days" ?

How do you carry it ?

    Please tell us here.

I carry a commander sized 1911 with 8 + 1 rounds of 45 acp for starters, and I usually carry another 8 round magazine on my left hip. I have several more loaded mags strategically placed wherever I think the need may arise, whether at home, at work, and in any of my vehicles.

On my person I only carry the ammo that my gun's mag has.
I have never carried an extra mag on my person

In my go bag that stays with me in my truck or otherwise with me all of the time, I have a spare pistol and spare loaded mags for days. Plus several blades, flashlights, roll of Gorilla tape, 550 cord, some iodine pills, the cure for cancer and a moon rock.

okay, some of that was a lie

How much ammo do you carry when you C.C.?

Generally carry fully loaded, condition 1 but there are exceptions. The NAA Holster Grip is never condition 1; when I use the shoulder rig - it's two spares for 46 rounds with 18 in the pistol.

Generally, I carry what's loaded to get to my vehicle where reloads are available.

What do you feel is a reasonable minimum for "most places, most days" ?

I'm good with 5 rounds of 22Mag when I'm working. But for many zero, zilch and nada are plenty reasonable.

How do you carry it ?

Loaded in the carry piece. In the shoulder rig mags are opposite the pistol to balance the weight.

I just carry the 6+1 in my gun.

If that’s not enough, I’ll just pistol whip’em

Believe in “averages”? For the most part, I do. According to FBI statistics, the “average” gun fight sees no more than four or five rounds fired. And while the minimum number of rounds fired can be known (i.e., one), the absolute maximum is somewhat more difficult to ascertain in any given potential gun battle. But nevertheless, we are left with the FBI “average” statistic.
I tend to not carry an extra magazine when I’m carrying a typical ‘high capacity’ (~13+ rds) 9mm. But conversely, if I’m relegated to carrying a lower capacity (~6 rds) pocket pistol, I’ll make it a point to carry a reserve magazine. So I guess that makes my comfort level fall somewhere around a minimum of roughly 12 or 13 rounds.

Always a gun + extra mag. Gun is OWB and extra mag is in my pocket

    G42/G43 w extended base plates 8 + 1 / 8
    G30s 10+1 / 10

I want to get a mid size revolver for carrying. My Security Six is just too nice for me to ruin with holster wear. When that happens, I will probably carry two speedloaders in my pocket

I use that guy LandRollover’s technique. 1 in the pipe. All in the mag. All in another mag. And a KBar. The BUG is a tactical tomahawk. Unless I’m naked. If I’m naked, I pick up the nearest shit. I shit everywhere.

But where I leave my shit isn’t important; I just profile. If it’s alive and in my space, it’s a threat, so profile complete.

But on the boat an oar hollowed out and barreled with one round in. Hot. Just have to press it against my ambidextrous shoulder. I don’t like using it since it messes with my shot splits. Especially out past 1000 yards.

    G19 with a 17 round spare.

Used to carry a bug instead of spare mag but unless I pulled the legs off the bug it was never where I left it, bastards were always crawling away.

Seriously I carried a small 38 revolver or 45 pistol as backup but when you get old you lose your ars and it made it hard to keep the pants up.

My favorite quote concerning ‘statistics’ comes from Samuel Langhorne Clemens (Mark Twain), “There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies and statistics.”
