The current period of unusual stability coincides with the birth of human civilization. What if humans cultivating their environment to their benefit is what has caused the unusual stability?

Humans cultivating their environment is such a short lived event in the big picture it doesn't even rate a blip.

Global warming/climate change is occurring at about 2/3 of one degree per human lifetime. Relative to the earth's cyclic climate cycles that is hyper-speed!

It's real and those science deniers who who take the "I don't feel warmer" tact just look silly.

The question ought to be...can we meaningfully alter the course of the human influence on climate.

Both sides have made up their minds so arguing is pretty fruitless.

And how much of that change is due to the fact that most of the sensors with any significant history are in areas that are “heat islands” (localized weather/climate). Or is that one of the many magical adjustments that they make to the raw data in order to “normalize” it based upon something that is seldom explained to the unenlightened.

Regardless if human-caused climate change is a thing...how the heck is picking my pockets for more tax money gonna change it?

I think renewable energy is great.
It’s so great that market forces should drive it, not .gov mandate.

    Actually no.

1 degree celsius, ~2 degrees Fahrenheit in only a century is an enormous rate of change relative to rate of waxing and waning temperatures as our planet has, of course, undergone prodigious natural climate variations.

Me? Not in the least sarcastic, though the issue has become like arguing religion. Senseless. All minds are made up with unassailable dogma.

This used to be the poster-child example of science deniers until the flat-earth contingent arrived!
    :)

Please read my prior post on the lack global warming fanatics failing to follow the most basic tenets of science. This is a cult, there is no sound science behind it. If the science was sound, I would accept it. But they have their predetermined answer and they will break any rule to reach that conclusion.

The data you are reporting is not credible in the least.

When one's science is sound and one is in pursuit of science, one welcomes others critically examining one's models and data. You want to know if someone can poke a hole in your theory, so that you can make corrections if needed. But the church of global warming does not want anyone examining their data or models. And they try to use political shenanigans to silence anyone who does not agree with them. If their science was any good at all, they would let their theory stand on its own merits. They would not attempt to bar critics from publishing or speaking (as has been shown in many emails).

When the ocean temperature data showed cooling, not warming, they changed from using buoys for the data source to ship's intake temperature sensors. The latter was not scientifically sound, as the ship's engines transmit heat through the hull. This causes the readings to be higher than actual seawater temperature. Just one of many examples of the hoax.

The global warming fanatics report that the Ross ice shelf in the Antarctic is at record low levels. But they do not report the NASA observation that overall ice coverage at Antarctica is at record highs.

Global warming is all about researchers getting grant dollars. Researchers go along with the global warming cult because it is easy money. They know if the truly apply science and disagree, they will not be able to get grant money and will be out on the street.

Dogma? Absolutely not on my part. I have enough training in science to know when someone is failing to apply the scientific method.

    Tin foil hat conspiracy stuff.

Like arguing with those that believe in chem-trails or alien abductions or orbs.
Arguing with someone about a faith-based belief is futile.

    Outa here!

Is climate changing? Sure, just as it has been changing for 4+ Billion years from a earth completely covered in an ice sheet to deserts where the poles are. I know of no one who argues that point. The problem lies in the approach:

Instead of make sense rules and regs they take the approach that they can tax ourselves into results. The Carbon tax scheme is nothing but a scam to make a handful of people wealthy, very wealthy and it accomplishes ZERO in results.

IF the solution is global taxes then we really don't have a problem!

    Whatever shall we do?

Oldag puts together a sound argument that goes against the narrative. So instead of putting together a response to counter or at least say that you can appreciate a differing viewpoint, the go to is name calling.
