I thought Victory motorcycles were slick looking. They are no longer being made. I think Buell is tittie up. Harley's attempt at a sporty bike was the Vrod. It's gone too. Haven't heard anything about Indian. The saturation of the market is all classic style Harley.
Victory was owned by Polaris, they couldn't get enough market to make it profitable, and they were going to have to redesign their engines from the ground up to meet next emissions tier... this is another problem Harley is facing (besides aging demographics) so rather than rebuild the Victory lineup, they bought the Indian lineup to get name recognition... I love their new Scout Bobber- I don't want to buy new, but nobody sells them used yet. I owned an AMF era Ironhead a while back, then put 65,000 miles on a Honda Shadow Sabre 1100... only HD that interests me at all now is a VRod Muscle (now discontinued).

If the boys at Dyess AFB are an indicator. Yes.
    Crotch rockets and Challengers everywhere.
    "Zoomies"
Ah, something else I don't get. I didn't know soldiers were representative of the millinnial generation. If they make TopGun2, it will be a hit.

So what you guys seem to be saying is...Harley’s are the 1911’s of the motorcycle world

I would say you are right there, it's an 'old school' thing and a lot of folks would not understand.

NEVER had an issue with it idling, never let me down on a road trip, never had an oil leak, issue free.

Yea, it's old school and so am I.

Been making HD since 1903, unless Mgt has eyes bigger than their wallet it's not going away anytime soon, it will prob revert back to a smaller company filling the niche for old schoolers...

Came out of a 7-11 one time, probably in mid-70's, two guys on Harleys. One guy was foot cranking his. Wouldn't start. Kept cranking, still wouldn't start. His buddy says "tell me again why we bought these damn bikes?". The no-start guy says " Prestige, man, prestige!". I laughed and laughed! Hahahahahaha!

If those (mid-70's)were fairly new bikes (post 1969 AMF), they didn't represent HD's finest hour.

With a kick starter they were older bikes. Nothing new there, they also marked their territory. Start looking at the EVO and Twinkie engines. 90's and up. Different world.

Can you imagine Evel Knievel jumping shit on a Harley?

I dunno how he managed to even sit on a Harley given the size of the balls that guy had.

I've owned two, an old sportster, and an old 3 wheeled Servi-car. Neither impressed me. Undependable, leaky, etc. I've rode my son in laws FatBoy many times. I like FAST dependable motorcycles, and Harleys are neither! Only thing I liked about em were the SOUND! And the idiots at Harley tried to get the sound trademarked! I shit you not! The courts didn't agree, of course.
