Reading some info about the dead guy(on another forum).
Evidently the dude had serious rage issues.
Many previous run-ins with the law.
Even some Facebook postings raging about the mailman being a Peeping Tom.
Dude sounds like a serious whack-a-doodle.
Probably why Shirtless Old Guy and Son where armed. They knew the Nut Bag.
Yeah, a lot of that is coming out. Apparently he did things like tell a mailman he was going to get shot for walking too close to his windows and believed it was justified because he had kids in his house.

This is also going around. He seems to have a well documented history of assault, though the details of most of the cases are hard to determine from the charge item alone.

I'm using text-to-talk so this might not come out in the way I'm trying articulate it but if there's a documented history of this guy being violent towards people for very what seems to be minor things it's possible that if they get a good attorney to get off scot-free or at the very least get like manslaughter and serve like a year in prison I'm not saying that those guys were justified in shooting him but somebody charges me and I think they have a weapon I'm probably going to shoot them then again as it's already been said it's best not to put yourself in a situation where you have to shoot someone

De-escalation? Nah, Ima charge two armed dudes armed with nothing but a bat and my big mouth, yelling "I'm gonna kill you, f•ggots!" Over garbage. Because I need to show off in front of my hag of wife.

Fixed my typo. And my post was for both parties in this conflict.

Yeah if I was on the Grand Jury I'd no-bill those two crackers, but they'd have to pick up the garbage.
I would not be so quick to do so. I would want to know what was so important about the mattress that they needed to confront him over it, knowing as I am sure they knew, how angry he gets. So they go armed. Why confront him at all? Why not just call the appropriate department in the city and let them deal with it? Or was it intentional, knowing he would blow up, so as to justify what they ended up doing?
    Questions. Lots of questions.

    Gunz are icky.
That is what makes this one so iffy.
Shirtless guys really weren’t in a self defense situation until the last moment before the shooting started.
They could have backed away many times.
Once Orange Shirt got worked up it was toast.
The wife knew that. The shirtless guys knew that(I bet thats why they were armed).
The wife could of intervened. She didn’t. At one point she was directly in front of the old shirtless guy. Instead of trying to talk her crazy husband down she made smart alec comments. She provoked as much as anybody.
Orange shirt probably has been terrorizing/bullying the neighborhood for who knows how long.

you think maybe the neighbors are thankful that both groups are going to be gone after this week?

Yes they could have, but legally Castle Doctrine applies.

How so? If the altercation took place in an alley, then that leaves the following considerations:

Sec. 9.31. SELF-DEFENSE. (a) Except as provided in Subsection (b), a person is justified in using force against another when and to the degree the actor reasonably believes the force is immediately necessary to protect the actor against the other's use or attempted use of unlawful force. The actor's belief that the force was immediately necessary as described by this subsection is presumed to be reasonable if the actor:
    (1) knew or had reason to believe that the person against whom the force was used:

    (C) was committing or attempting to commit aggravated kidnapping, murder, sexual assault, aggravated sexual assault, robbery, or aggravated robbery; (Did this rise to dead guy attempting to commit murder since verbal provocation alone is not justified)

    (b) The use of force against another is not justified:
    (1) in response to verbal provocation alone;
