Me?
I'll vote for who is an intellectual leader and who is best for this country.
Trump isn't it. Hillary wasn't either.
Trump is an immoral, narcissistic, bigoted man.
I put morality high on my required qualifications.
Any guy that is banging a porn star (I can't eat mushrooms anytime soon) while his wife is breastfeeding their infant son is irredeemable.
What bothers me, as a bedrock issue, is that he's just not very bright.
Trump isn't even close to being Ted Cruz' intellectual equal so he resorted to the schoolyard bully tactic of demeaning name calling. What ever happened to old "Lyin' Ted" Cruz, anyway?
Our president's 7th grade mental capacity! Great.
Put Pence in the Oval Office. I was a Cruz supporter over Hillary and Trump.
I've not altered my attitude one iota.
You want an intellectual leader? Obama was a great reader. Sounded brilliant. I would have been happy with Trump or Cruz, in that order. When you want to talk brilliance, you sound like the Russian military strategists. You think "a bigger army will win" while Trump thinks like an American, "a better army will win". More brain cells or higher IQ...or sounding smarter...or having more letters behind your name doesn't mean you are better qualified for the job.
The job of president isn't to prepare you for Jeopardy or running Mensa or curing cancer. It's to manage people, accomplish goals, and make tough decisions under pressure.
Cruz is brilliant. I'd have liked him on the SCOTUS. But he's not very likeable or electable. He can beat anyone in a debate. But has he managed people? Has he ran a company? Has he managed a budget? Has he made tough, snap decisions? He's been a member of a body that takes 5 years to pass an annual budget. He's part of a group that can't make any decisions quickly or efficiently. He may be smart, but where's his resume of being an executive?
Trump has run countless companies in some fashion. He's seen failure and recovered. He's made things happen when others couldn't. He's altruistic, but not braggadocios (about his altruism). He got the Central Park rink done in months when the city couldn't do it in years. He's negotiated with foreign governments for business. And, apparently, he's likeable. The Apprentice was a #1 rated show...not just for Republicans. The lovable Arnold took over and it bombed. Trump also has the Ivy League diplomas. Lots of people with fancy diplomas that don't amount to squat.
As for his tactics, in WW2 we took our best general and used him as a bluff before Normandy. Know your enemy. Know your audience. Most of America isn't educated. Most of America can't pass a 12th grade reading test. Cruz can't dumb it down for middle (or lower) America. People understand name calling. They understand labels and branding. They understand quips and jabs. They snooze on stats and morality. So who's a better debater? The guy who uses bigger words or the guy who wins the debate?
So, do you want an inexperienced articulate intellectual, or a junk yard dog who gets it done. We already had the former for 8 years. I love Ted, but Trump is the right guy for the job.
As for immoral, I have a priest. I vote for chief executive, not chief theocrat. I don't look to my president to guide my morality. I want him to manage my country, not gouge me on taxes, keep our country safe from foreign invaders, and protect my liberties. That's about it. I'll take care of my own religion, family, house, food, healthcare, and immediate protection.
And we have the hottest first lady ever. Remember how amazed the media was with Michelle Obama's arms? WTF? Even Jackie O (with her moral compass JFK at her side) can't compare to Melania..IMO. But that's just a bonus.
