Legal immigrants ALSO have the right to speak to their consulate, but they're still subject to the jurisdiction of the US.
I believe that's ONLY the case if a legal immigrant is being scheduled for removal for some reason (such as, for example, having lied on immigration papers, etc.). When scheduled for removal, it doesn't matter what your status is--legal or illegal--your home country consular officials must be notified.

A very good video concerning the migrant invasion. It's worth the time to watch it. You can get the gist in first 7 minutes if you don't want to watch the whole thing.

He can't "get rid of the 14th Amendment unilaterally", so quit with the hyperbole. What he CAN do, is precisely hone in on a definition of something that has been left unexplained/undecided since 1898 . . . and that is: What would have been the result had Wong Kim Ark's parents been illegal immigrants rather than legally resident aliens when they had their son? It seems you believe the the Court would have decided in the same manner. I happen to believe the decision and judgment would have been quite different in those changed facts. And that's the rub, counselor--it's a question that has NEVER been decided and will be ripe for courts once Trump executes on his order--IF he does.

The so-called hyperbole, came out of the POTUS' mouth hole. He said, he wanted to do away with the 14th Amendment. Perhaps, he wants to change the Entire Immigration Law enacted by Congress. (And you thought tax law was easy). :) Perhaps he just wants some house slaves. Maybe is a matter of both.

I don't need to know the "Truth" about the Caravan. The So-Called Republic of Mexico acts only in its own interest. Just like when they purposely allowed illegal Brazilians to land in Mexico City, and sent them toward the United States. Mexico is pissed off about this wall rhetoric and is trying to shove as many illegals down Trump's throat as possible. They love to call our detention facilities barbaric. However, the truly barbaric conditions are in Mexican facilities. They castigate us for having a formal death penalty, but informally use it all the time. When it is not in their particular interest, they take mordidas (or bribes) from people illegally entering their border, barring that, rape and mass graves are the Mexican Immigration Order of the Day. A former Border Patrol Agent/Instructor accidentally went across and they found an errant .40 round in her vehicle. They forced to her have oral sex with several of their Customs Officials on condition of not throwing her in a shit pit (literally) of a Mexican holding facility.

Rape and murder are day to day operations in "Civilized" Mexico. The Generals works for the Cartels, and their troops routinely shoot and shoot at Border Patrol Agents to try and drive them off, so they can smuggle dope into the United States. "Mules" or the poor laborers they pay to transport the dope, if they get spooked by Border Patrol, drop the dope to be apprehended and swim back to Mexico, and knelt down and routinely executed. There are some things you see you can't un-see.

You are only now discovering that he speaks inartfully (at best), and incorrectly (at worst)? But the fact remains that he has folks who are actually licensed to practice law who are drafting whatever it is he would include in an executive order (if he does one) so that it will actually accomplish what needs to happen. You do realize, I hope, that Trump didn't author the travel ban himself, yes? Likewise, he won't be authoring an executive orders himself. He has folks far smarter than you or my or zinc or whomever to do that for him.

I do believe the end game here is to stimulate legal challenges that wind up in the Supreme Court. We'll see.

Diesel, had Wong Kim Ark's parents been illegal immigrants, he still would been "born in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof". Case in point:
    https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Selective_Service_System#Who_must_register
Under current law, all male US citizens between 18–25 years of age are required to register within 30 days of their 18th birthday. In addition, non-US citizen men between the ages of 18 and 25 (inclusive) living in the United States must register. This includes permanent residents, refugees, asylum seekers, and undocumented immigrants.
Then all of those illegal males are committing yet another violation of law. Deport them!

All one has to do is show that they are not subject to the jurisdiction of the United States. Precedent for this already exists.

The reality is, Trump knows his EO will not fly. Like so many other things, this is how he starts the ball rolling towards his end goal. He already has Graham on-board to introduce legislation to change it. He literally WANTS courts to shoot down his EO to create support for legislation/amendment. Anyone who does not see this strategy has not been paying attention, as he repeatedly does it.
    Exactly! ^^^

All those screaming that Trump is trying to destroy our constitution are just parroting what much of MSM has been dishing out. From when he was campaigning for the presidency Trump had talked about this issue. Those that think that the idea just came to him in a tweet haven't been paying attention, and yes, he has discussed these issues with others.

No need to be base and rude. And also, obviously, wrong.
Wrong how? How exactly do you think he could abolish any part of the constitution?
Trump has even said that he wished that congress would address this issue, but since they are too interested in trying to gain power rather then work on problems that affect the U.S., he took it upon himself to move things along.

No no no no. How exactly do YOU think people arguing against this only got that idea because MSM is telling them so?

I'm sure it wouldn't have anything to do with the "never Trump" campaign they have been on since he was elected.

They... who cares about them. I'm specifically objecting to you claiming that people here arguing against this only do so because "they" told them so. That's uncalled for.
