I'll still say, even though it's legal, I personally still wouldn't sell to somebody who didn't have a DL.
    That's just me.

Probably the gun show out in Mesquite. I haven't lived up that way in quite a while so, I'm really just guessing. I'm sure others that live more local know better than me.
Obama told me that if you go to Indiana you don't even need identification at the gunshows.

Having worked for the D.L. office for a while, and knowing what was involved from that side, I not only wouldn't have a problem with it, I have made a sale to an individual using just a Texas I.D. card.

Well, some people might have done things which prevent them from having a DL, but
they can still get an ID.
They can give any reason they want why they don't have one, doesn't mean it's the truth.

Due to that person being one of my customers, and me keeping my customer's information to myself, I will just say that it was a very acceptable answer.

I will also say, it was not an answer that I would risk losing my license over. As a FFL dealer, if I don't like/feel comfortable with "X", I will happily decline the sale, show you out and or bar you from the property.

What about an LTC? That's a form of Texas ID.

Im a Texan according to my birth certificate. I had a license here until 2008 when I moved to the great state of Wyoming and got a license there. Then I worked in the orient to until this past December.
My Wyoming license is expired. I have vision issues which keep me from driving. I'd rather not go through the hassle of doing any business with the DMV. I use, Uber, the DART system, a bicycle, and the airlines for transportation.
I merely want to buy a Maverick home defense shotgun and a CCL without dealing with the state government. I appreciate all you respondants with viable information.

Yeah, that about sums it up. Byrd666 just posted the obvious solution just upthread.

The most interesting thing about all this is that my address isn't on my passport and the State Department web site is quite clear that a change in residence address doesn't require a new passport. There's no facsimile of a passport book that I can find on their site but the picture of a passport card clearly shows it does not have a residence address on it.

Yet the OP says he has a passport with his address on it? Something doesn't compute, here.

Hey, Trebek, could you please have a look at your passport and confirm for us that it actually has a residential address on it? And is the cover blue?
Where did I state that my passport had my address on it?
