USS Kennith D Bailey was DD 713. DE 213 was the USS William T Powell.

Your right I thought something didn't look right but it has been awhile. Our sister the Goodrich was DDR 831 ?? She picked up one of the Mercury Astronaut John Glenn. We were on a couple of them. I do remember watching her take a 51° roll off of Cape Hateras in '62.

USS Goodrich was DD 83. DD 714 was the USS William R Rush which decommissioned in 1978 and became the ROKS Kang Won DD 922. The Rush was on a world cruise in 61, and the Goodrich was coming out of the yards in Norfolk in 61.

Whoa, you're way more up on this than my memory allows. I thought for sure the Goodrich was just one number removed from the Bailey. That 83 just doesn't ring a bell at all. I do know I boatswains chaired over to her once for some gunnery observation of the Fire Control system.

I do know we were out of Jax Beach and I thought she always tied up next to us. When I got out they were head for the Mediterranean and I spent a month?? on the USS Luce. DLG 7 ?? because I was getting out.

Now I hope I have her right or maybe my pain meds are affecting my memory.

What was your duty station or just a Navy buff who knows all the ships Numbers and positions. I remember the Bailey being in the yards but can't remember when.

I do remember I was in Norfolk twice for radar training. When we were in docks I don't remember which system but the last was the Mark V. I think the Cuban Blockade was right after we got back from the Med deployment so we were out a long time. Now tell me what I can't remember.

    Been a long time.

No Sir, I’m just fairly proficient at google. I spent 21 years playing the haze grey game, but I didn’t start until the late 80’s. My first ship was a Destroyer Escort that got reclassified to Fast Frigate.

The USS Luce was DLG 7, and later reclassified as DDG 38.

I don't like google but did it anyway and see that my memory was not that good. The Bailey was a DDR and not a DDE and we had the Mark II FRAM which was done just before I got there. The Mark V was a gun site radar system that was new.
I spent 8 months in Bainbridge, MD for Fire Control School, so she would have been FRAMed about a year. The Luce was fairly new and I now remember she was a DLG. I did get her number right.
The deployment info, for my time, wasn't exactly right but pretty close.

What capacity of work? I didn't get to spend much time there was deployed at sea a lot.
The USS John F. Kennedy CV 67 had sat in Mayport for about 10 years as a training ship. The Kennedy family pushed to have her restored and returned to active duty. It was in such bad shape that the captain was relieved and reprimanded (scapegoat, since they never gave any money for upkeep). We spent 10 months replacing much of the piping systems and other repairs. About a week after I left to head back to Washington state they pulled her out of 10 feet of silt and towed her to Norfolk. When she was put into drydock she nearly collapsed under her weight. They made her seaworthy, but she was always problematic, so she only saw limited service until decommissioned a few years later.

Of course with the power of the Kennedys, the government gave into naming the newest carrier, CVN 79 that's supposed to be commissioned next year, the USS John F. Kennedy.

I have read this before. Trump is a disruptor as some have suggested. He was and is not part of the elitists in Washington. Therefore, he is a threat.

The Russian narrative as many of us are finding out is phony.

From my prospective: what will be telling is what is not in the Mueller Final Report. Consider the various players that have come up during this investigation outside of those associated with Trump. The list will is long and reported in the Federalist. Will any of these people be prosecuted?

Manafort ran in the same circles as Tony Podesta and others who lobby on behalf of foreign entities (all shady characters). Will Podesta get targeted by Mueller? I doubt it. At least as it stands now, he is not going to be prosecuted.

IMHO, if the other people who have been behind this Russian collusion narrative (Comey, Rosenstein, Ohr, Fusion GPS, DNC, HRC, Christoper Steele, FISA abuses, Yates, Brennen, Clapper etc...) don’t get dragged into this final report, this was nothing more than a waste of time and demonstrates the “double standard” of our justice system. 30 million wasted to cover the tracks of the supposed investigators and accusers of their wrongdoing.

Should HRC be prosecuted for the classified material breach? Yes. Should the Clinton Foundation be investigated? Yes. Should Uranium One be investigated? Yes. Will she be investigated? I doubt it, although John Huber has suggested otherwise. We’ll see. We’ll see if Bob Barr, AG will clean house and rid the DOJ and FBI of these scoundrels and reset the “justice for all”.

Trump was not in my top 10 list when this started, but I voted for him and will do so in 2020. The alternate would be very bad for our country. If someone else comes along and can win, than I’ll take another and closer look. It’s all about winning and who can win!

The Podesta brothers jumped quickly and registered as foreign agents. If Manafort had done the same, he was not given the same chance, he would never have been prosecuted. He had been cleared, by Rosenstein, eight years earlier of the other charges.

It was all a witch hunt.

It sounds like the Kennedy had a pretty active duty and sitting in port to rot doesn't sound good.
I think when I was in we heard scuttle butt about this great new carrier that was on line.

I worked there from 01/06 to 11/06 in 2003. Know the place quite well.

She was decommissioned in '07 according to the record. It sounds like she was active until then is that not true?
