I've had my issues with NRA over the years. When they were trying to play nice with legislators and reconcile our position with theirs, I got fed up and quit. Now that they take a firm line, I'm onboard! If the legislators get out of line, the NRA does its best to get them out of office. If a law sucks, the NRA goes to court and challenges it.

Look at it this way. Politicians turn my stomach. The NRA butts heads with that scum 24/7 so I don't have to deal with them one-on-one. They keep track of harmful legislation and read those new bills so I don't have to. I can stay in Texas and don't need to go to Washington DC to keep track of those bastards because the NRA does that for me. For $35, it's a heck of a deal!

As a 3rd-generation Life Member, I've had my share of issues w/them. Having said that, as one of the National officers told me once - "You KNOW us, you know our stance. When you see us pulling in horns, it's because we feel that we HAVE to. You can also bet they won't STAY that way!"

I don't care WHAT group someone belongs to - but if they're not PAYING MEMBERS of a NATIONAL gun-rights group, then they're letting ME AND OTHERS fund THEIR fight - and that's plain bullshit, and nothing more than an excuse on their part to get a free ride, just like these welfare queens. Period. SO, if you aren't a member of one of 'em, then kindly STFU, sit in the corner, and let the REAL men get about their business.

Clear enough? And "mrredneck", I'm waiting to hear about who you belong to....

Wait a minute - NOT an NRA member?!?? What gun rights group DO you belong to?!??

    Struck a nerve did I ??
I am a GOA life mamber. No-Compromise gun rights for me. The GOA understands that the 2A is our tool to ensure all other right. The GOA fights for all Constitutional right and will not Compromise any of them. The GOA also promote Constitutional Gun Rights!!!
I was a NRA member, but not anymore. The NRA's views on the " Disclosure Acts" , the Support they have shown Harry Reid, and the Compromising nature they have toward our rights doesnt set well with me. Believe me, I have called and tried my best to get some kind of answers as to " WHY". All I got was a recording and people that couldnt help me!!

Larry Pratt is an outstanding Man. I have never disagreed with him on anything......
I have also looked into the TSRA but haven't joined yet. I like supporting something I can stand behind or lead if asked to. I hate to say, I dont feel that way about the NRA anymore, but one thing I can say is I admire Mr Ted Nugent. Because Ted shares my attitude, I hope him being a board member will help create a NRA that I will be proud to join again.
For now, I will only be a GOA life member. IF another group comes along that I can truley support, I be their member as well.
And to clarify the " belong to", I am a member of a group I support. I dont belong to anyone! My membership as a member doesnt make me property or a subject that can be disclosed to a bunch of Libtarded BS in Washington just so the organization can have the only seat in the House.
I have one opinion when my rights are concerned. Leave Them Alone!!

Is reading comprehension that much a challenge for you?? Dude, I spelled it out there in plain, simple english - go back and read it slowly - feel free to move your lips if you need to. You're so damned busy spouting off everywhere and mouthing shit that you can't read something laid out in a simple set of sentences?!??

Rebecca Peters is the broad that spearheaded the Australian gun ban. She has now gone onto a worldwide campaign. The title of this thread says it all.

Just because someone is not a "PAYING MEMBER of a NATIONAL gunrights group" does NOT mean that they are not doing their "part". Mr Redneck is doing more then most people, in fighting for Texas gun rights. YOUR RIGHTS ! I believe it was Mr Redneck that was the one that really got us all talking about starting a Citizens Defense League, here, in Texas.

I believe Mr Redneck is the one that is putting up HIS money to fund the website, to start the group. I believe it is Mr Redneck, that is driving to Arizona with me, to go to the AZCDL meeting Oct. 2nd.

How can you be so narrow minded, to say that if Mr Redneck (or anyone else ) doesn't do things YOUR way, that they should "STFU, sit in a corner and let real men get about their business" ?

Sorry, but that is just plain WRONG ! Most of us are wanting and working for the same thing. Why BASH someone else for HOW they do their part ?

Some people can't afford to spend money to help fight for the cause, but can help with their time.

Sorry, if it is not in the way that YOU want !

Actually, your points prove the "Exception to the Rule" - but are well taken. The kind of folks I have issue with are the ones that walk around talking about "gun rights", but do squat to SUPPORT those fighting for them. Funny you should mention Mr. Redneck - he and I just got off the phone after a lengthy conversation about the new group, and how to best move it forward. Lots of ideas, not all of 'em "good" ones - but brainstorming is part of the process.

Thanks for the feedback, though - sometimes the point we try to make is lost in the emotion of the expressing of it!
