A first edition Ruger LC9. I bought into the hype of the pocket gun and purchased it without trying it first. I will NEVER buy a gun again without trigger time first. I have never sold a gun, but if I ever did, that one would be the first to go.
All that & mine is raspberry pink!!!

The original LC9 was a bit of a pain. The LC9s and EC9s are a vast improvement. Except for that snappy 9mm in a tiny frame thing. They were never meant to be your favorite plinker.

Either a .44 mag revolver, mainly because of the sound, or a Remington BDL .280 mountain rifle I bought back in the mid '90s to deer hunt with. Thing was light as hell and would knock the crap out of you. Never bit me, but a buddy of mine still has a scar above his right eye from shooting it at the lease one weekend.

I remember having to drive to town to buy first aid supplies for him ;)

Scope kiss is pretty common when you use someone else’s scoped rifle.

People don’t think eye relief be like it is, but it do. ;)

Haha.....I warned him too before he took a shot.....don't creep up! I had my binos looking downrange at the target we were shooting at and told him, "I think you hit it!" Then turned and looked at him and unbeknownst to him, he had a stream of blood from above his eye running down his face.

We still laugh about it, but him sitting on the porch with an ice pack on his head and me driving to town for first aid supplies was a buzzkill.

I have to agree with you on the rifle.

I think the Steyr carbines weigh in the neighborhood of 7 lbs. That surplus Nazi ammo kicks like a son of a bitch too, especially in a light rifle with a steel butt plate. I don't know what those Germans were thinking when they loaded that stuff up.

If you stand and use good form when you shoot the big bores they do not beat you up.

When you are seated and shooting them, YOU receive 100% of the recoil.
Probably why my M1A beats the crap out of me when I take it to the range. Always shoot it seated and my shoulder can't handle more than a few mags.

Or maybe maybe I'm just a little bitch but my brother's FNAR didn't hurt me at all.

    Be glad it wasn't a .458 Lott!
The African Big Game calibers are a beast. The trick is not shooting them like you would shoot a .308. In other words, shoot them while standing, rather than prone or from a bench.

I got the opportunity to shoot a .600 NE double rifle with what the owner called “ elephant loads”. He asked if I wanted to shoot something lighter but 27 year old me declined.

It was very stout, left a bruise, and I could not imaging going through a box of those for shits and giggles, but it was manageable.

The rifle was a H&H. It probably cost more than my house, lol.

My Seecamp .380 is still the most unpleasant.

The biggest gun I've shot was an extremely nice Remington 700 in 458 Win Mag. I was instructed on how to shoot it, and it was not bad at all. I would NOT want to shoot it from a bench, but using the proper technique, I could probably make it through a box of ammo without hating my life choices.

My Remington Long Range rifle in 300 Ultra Mag. $65.00 to thread the barrel and I purchased a fat Bastard Muzzle Brake form APA.

Back when I worked with Euro Gun Imports I shot a lot of dangerous game rifles, most .500 N.E. for the company owner. I was tasked with sighting in his Dr. Optic red dots on his personal guns. By the time he ordered the " Jumbo" .60 N.E. I didn't want no part of it.

Dontcha’ just love the feeling that every time you pull the trigger on someone else’s dinosaur rifle it is like spending $25 per shot that you didn’t have to pay for? ;)
