I'm looking for good reasons to own a 1911, what are they?

But I'd recommend a "counter balance" weight while wearing it as it's kinda' heavy loaded up with a 14 rd. mag. and ya' end up walking in circles!

Great, now I gotta buy two of 'em, and a crossdraw holster. Plus twice the pieces parts to lose...

    Ya' ain't helpin' Charlie :D

Relatively new brand with not much history. There are other more proven brands in that price range.
$900 Will get you a plenty nice operator level pistol.
Less money can also get you a nicer shooter.
It's a hundred year old design. Most manufacturers have figured it out. It don't need a pony.

@Byrd666 What you need is a bull barrel 1911. With the captive spring system, there are no flying pieces. Now you have me curious, so when I get back home, I’ll try to disassemble one using only one hand. I believe it can be done.

Mine too. Got a trials bike in idle...

I don't wanna buy something pretty that doesn't shoot.
Exactly what I'm getting at. Most 1911s from any manufacturer will run as reliably as a revolver. We just hear about the very few exceptions that need some work to run well. Kinda like a Ford.
My Springfield isn't the most accurate 1911 I've owned, but it's 100% reliable in it's function.
