G19 is my fave of the Glocks (for me it’s a better shooter than the G17). I like the keltec over the ruger.

Whatever you get, the G19 stock 15rnd mags don’t fit the keltec unless you shorten it’s grip.

Maybe get the G45 as it takes the longer magazines?

There's a Sub2k that takes Glock 17 mags, and one, with a shorter grip, that accepts Glock 19 mags.

Because they’re bad? A sickness? A silly fleeting feeling?

    I’m so confused. :boom:

    Buy the Glock though.

Said I was thinking about a G19x, not thinking about buying a G19x

There was a dumpster fire of a thread in the classifieds a couple nights ago where some dude was trying to scam the sale of one.

    Gunz are icky.
Nope, still want one of those butt ugly things. The gun shop is about 60 miles away, and I've been sick since Saturday. It'll be a while before I can get back up that way. I'll probably have one by the end of the month.

    You’re so sick you’re raving.
Please don’t do anything until you’re clear headed.

I cannot believe I'm saying this, but I want a Glock. I eventually want to get a PCC in 9mm, and since pretty much all of them take Glock mags, I might as well get one of the damn things.

There's a few I've looked at. I don't think I want a G19 since I probably wouldn't carry it much (I prefer SA/DA for carry), but I would consider it. The G17 and the G34 are the two I'm most interested in. The G17 is, well a G17. Ain't nothing really that special about it. They apparently make a long slide version called the G17L, and it's kinda freakishly long. It doesn't look natural, but it's at least interesting. The G34 is what I'm kinda leaning towards. It's longer than a G17, but not too long. It just seems right, is supposedly has a decent trigger. I'm probably going to upgrade the trigger anyways, so that's not overly important.

What ever I get, I'd want to put a red dot on (MOS), and I will get an Alpha Wolf barrel for it so that I can shoot cast without blowing the gun up. The gun will mainly be a range toy. I'm tempted to build the thing from thr ground up using one of those Polymer 80 kits, but I'm not sure I want to spend that much on it. By the time I did everything I'd want to do, it would be at least a $1000 gun...

Any suggestion, opinions, smart ass remarks, ect?
One of the new, young officers that I have trained asked me whether he should get a 1911 like the rest us carried, or a Glock so he could have large capacity magazines. The man that repaired our radios (Bill) used to work at Gunsite as an instructor (when Col. Cooper was still running the place). The Rookie trusted him, looked up to him, and was a little in awe of him. The rookie asked Bill what he thought about Glocks v 1911's. Bill's answer helped the rookie make his decision. He told the young rookie the advantages the Glock had over the 1911, then he told him the advantages the 1911 had over the Glock. But the main advantage the 1911 had over the Glock was pride of ownership: What Bill said was something along the lines of, "You work in a dangerous career field. You could be maimed, or killed at any time. If something were to happen to you and they found the Glock on you, or in your house, it would embarrass your family".

    Just food for thought...

What a load! Don't even need to think about that. If I get killed they will find a gleaming and clean 1911 there in the house and a Glock on me. I have both and my family would be happy to inherit any of my guns no matter the maker. As long as it works reliably it doesn't really matter the maker to me.

I just got a Shadow Systems MR918 and it’s Fracking Amazing, I was able to get my lgs to order one that’s was on close out. It’s by far a better buy than a stock Glock then getting custom work done to it.

I like the looks of that, a lot. Thanks for the heads up. I'll definitely consider that over a stock Glock.

As previously mentioned they are not the most aesthetically pleasing guns. However their advantages far outweigh the disadvantages. Bottom line = They run, clean or dirty. More than one range master at my former place of employment would go 1000 rounds between cleanings. Not to mention the myriad aftermarket products and compatibility with other weapons that accept Glock magazines (KelTec Sub 2000, Ruger PC Carbine). Simplicity and ease of maintenance is another strong point. Here's a link to a video I think most of you will find interesting:
