Australia is in the tail-end of their summer and they’ve been hit pretty hard with COVID-19. Especially considering their small population.

Will summer temps have a significant impact?

Heat may reduce how long the virus is viable outside of a human host, but the primary method of transmission seems to be respiratory - breathing in what other breathe out?

love letter to HRC from our favorite virus doctor
Who phucking cares? A career bureaucrat who is also a world respected expert, stroking their boss at present? Does it change his credentials?

Now if he comes out with a book slamming trump next year that letter and the months of telling the world what an outstanding job trump did on video might be relevant. Right now it's just stupid chatter. Like Alissa Milano sucking bidens cock telling him what his leadership made her feel inside or whoopie telling the world trump is literally killing people between drags on her doobie. Or reporters say trump could be charged with murder or impeached over murder.

    It's just bullshit.

Micro Center has a controlled entrance. Stay 6 feet apart In Line. Limited number of customers in the store at once.

My daughter is working for me right now. I’m setup to work from home. She is not. That’s about to change.

Edit- just saw the highest ratio of men with pony tails ever seen outside a rock concert.

Heard a Dr. on TV saying in this time of Coronavirus staying at home we should focus on inner peace. To achieve this we should always finish things we start and we all could use more calm in our lives.

I looked through my house to find things i'd started and hadn't finished, so I finished off a bottle of Merlot, a bottle of Chardonnay, a bodle of Baileys, a butle of wum, tha mainder of Valiumun srciptuns, an a box a chocletz. Yu haf no idr how feckin fablus I feel rite now. Sned this to all who need inner piss. An telum u luvum. And two hash yer wands, stafe day avrybobby!!!

You think things are crazy now, wait till people are turned away from hospitals.

That is what they are trying to avoid. Reduce the spread of the disease to avoid millions per month getting it. There is some number (10K, 100K, 1M, etc) they can handle per month indefinitely, but over that they run out of resources. So slow it down and spread it out over time.

    Millions per month getting it?

And upon what is that based??
Using the CDC's mid-level range for people who contracted H1N1 between April and October 2009, it was estimated 22 million were infected; although the numbers ranged from estimates of 14 to 34 million cases in that time (remember 22 m is mid-level). The mid-level hospitalizations was 98,000. Source of those numbers:

    The Numbers
    (Print table
    icon_pdf.gif
    )
    • CDC estimates that between 14 million and 34 million cases of 2009 H1N1 occurred between April and October 17, 2009. The mid-level in this range is about 22 million people infected with 2009 H1N1.
    • CDC estimates that between about 63,000 and 153,000 2009 H1N1-related hospitalizations occurred between April and October 17, 2009. The mid-level in this range is about 98,000 H1N1-related hospitalizations.
    • CDC estimates that between about 2,500 and 6,000 2009 H1N1-related deaths occurred between April and October 17, 2009. The mid-level in this range is about 3,900 2009 H1N1-related deaths. (no copyright violation as this is from a U.S. Government website)
    Source of above quote.

Of course, all that has absolutely nothing to do with the current COVID-19 outbreak which so far has not come even close to H1N1 infection rates with only 416,686 to date (source). Of course, it has about two months to catch up to H1N1 which lasted about 7 months.

As for how many people hospitals can handle within a given time frame either indefinitely or before they run out of resources due to not being able to replenish because of too many patients, I would like to see some statistics and source for those statistics on anything to do with that. Hospitals in the U.S. - at least in many states - have been restricted for years by state governments as to how many beds and certain types of medical equipment they can have (discussed by Mark Levin on his show maybe a week or so ago). In addition governors, like Cuomo in NY, have known for many years their state's hospitals were unprepared and not properly equipped to handle a pandemic (source). With all due respect, to claim they are trying to reduce the spread of the disease so as to be able to maintain a set number of patients that hospitals supposedly can handle indefinitely seems pointless unless you can show the numbers and supporting evidence for the numbers. Regardless, resources are limited not infinite and besides that of course they are trying to reduce the spread - not so much that hospitals don't run out of resources - since they already do not have nearly enough resources - but mainly so people do not get sick and die.

The "news" is breathlessly reporting that the United States has more C-19 cases than any other country in the world.

This is only believable if you trust the Chinese, North Koreans, and Putin to report the truth of what's going on in their countries.

Maybe has more confirmed cases due to testing, at this particular point in time.

But the data is far from complete.
