I give this stay at home thing one more week. If numbers of deaths don't dramatically spike, I think people are going to say F-IT! Sorry to say, but it is going to be the number of deaths, not number of cases that keep people home. More and more people are going to realize that China and its puppet, the WHO, have screwed us and our economy.
Sorry for the rant. Been in the house with the wife and boy for 3 weeks now (other then walks and the occasional trip to the grocery store) and I'm starting to go bananas :banana::banana:

You’re giving it a week longer than I gave it.

I'm a scientist by avocation, training and passion.

Empiricism, in the end, rules the day.
Anecdotes, on occasion, lead to some demonstrable scientific knowledge.

To repeat my trite, utterly accurate, observation..... Most human afflictions improve if peanut butter is slathered on the patient's butt.

Therein lies the ignorant belief in homeopathy, energy medicine, chakras and an infinite parade of other such nonsense.

Phrenology was accepted, based on anecdotes, for decades.

For about the 7th time. I hope something our intensivists are employing pharmacologically makes a difference.
In my professional capacity I know several.
In any honest encounter they admit they, as yet, don't know.

Bye for now, firing up my IR Hunter to scour my back acreage.
So,,,,basically you are trying to say we should bow to your superior intellect since you say you were trained as a scientist?
Despite all sciences blatant disregard for the facts? Why the hell would we do that?
Science admits it has no idea how many people are really infected. Without that, ANY prediction by anyone is total bullshit. Just a wild ass guess.
As far as the malaria drugs, WTH??
Because science can't prove it works? Well they can't prove it doesn't either. But practical experience says it appears to help and at least it does not harm. As long as it does not hurt and helps any patients survive, why not.
How about if it is the life of your loved one on the line? Are you willing to let them die to sooth the pride of science?
I am educated as well believe it or not. And there are times when science has no answer and must use logic to solve a problem. There are times when logic absolutely trumps science. After all, without logic, there is no science. Science is supposed to be logical.
There are people, not just countries, dieing. They don't have time for your pride.
If it helps at all and causes no harm, why the hell not? As you liberals, yes you are one, like to say,,,,if it saves just one life.........

Trained as a scientist. That statement brings out the cynic in me. "scientist" in 1979 or '80 were saying that North Texas would be covered in a two foot thick sheet of ice by 2002. Predictions by scientists are based on models. I am prone to believe the information used for these models tends to be biased according to desired results.
