It’s not too easy to find. Most local places in DFW get 1 shipment a month and it sells relatively quick. The distillery just doesn’t make it in high volume.

It’s about damn perfect.

To me, Eagle Rare is like Blantons. While both are good and I enjoy them both, I don’t think they are worthy of the hype.
I regularly bought Henry McKenna 10 for $31 before it won some stupid award and now you can’t find it.
IMO about the best Bourbon obtainable now is Old Forester 1920.

I have not had Blantons, but for the price Eagle Rare is great. My favorite Bourbon I have tried to date is Stagg Jr....also have trouble finding it

My go-to is 18 year old Glenlivet. Their 15 year old French cask reserve is quite nice, as is their 16 year old Glenlivet Nadurra.

As it was mine too. I switched to Glenfiddich, and their 15 is as good or better than the 18 Glenlivit.

Give it a shot? Pun intended! We do still buy JD occasionally, for cooking though. I use it in a BBQ sauce I make, and the wife uses it in a casserole she makes.

New favorite is Michters 10yr. Better than Blantons but just as hard to get. Col Taylor is solid too.
