Lots of things are rule of law without “legislative process”. I try not to get worked up over all of them. But honestly, I feel the whole mask wearing should be based on social pressure, rather than from threat of fine or force.
Looking back, the closure seems silly, as we had so few COVID patients. If he dropped those restrictions back on the hospital, I’d have to settle in for another round of firings, but probably wouldn’t be as bad as it seems the patients are back in the hospital. The TMB can already suspend your license if they find your behavior inappropriate.
If enough people stand together and carry on like none of it is happening it will go away. People lay down too quickly these days!Social pressure is just a fact of life. We see it everywhere, including in this forum.
I'd much rather have that than threats of fines, jailing and closing down businesses.
Guilty as charged( I try to limit it to communist twerps and folks that post easily disprovable bullshit though)Hell, most of y’all use it on this forum to discourage people you don’t like from posting.

Social pressure is the same way we discourage teen pregnancy, drug use, drunk driving, unsafe handling of firearms, etc.
Y’all act like you don’t participate constantly. Hell, most of y’all use it on this forum to discourage people you don’t like from posting.

It is.Dunno. I never quite categorized morals and ethics as "social pressure".
Morals and ethics do not have their source in society (people), but rather in God. Significant difference. It is.
How many times have most, if not all of us, have said "you can not legislate ethics and morals"?
Societal pressure is the only reason we have laws at all. The difference is in the "why" and "how". When the many agree that it is for the betterment of all, we call it a "law".
What they are doing is using manipulated information to force their fear on the many.
Societal and peer pressure guide more of our lives daily than most people realize.

Society seems to have lost touch with Christianity these days due to the subversion of morals pushed by social media, music and movies. Too many broken homes and lost souls.Morals and ethics do not have their source in society (people), but rather in God. Significant difference.
For many, many years Americans generally accepted the Judaeo/Christian values/ethics as American values/ethics, even though not all were "religious".
Not really. Christianity came from Judasim, you know. Ten Commandments are just one of the things in common.Judeo/Christian is like saying oil and water but we don’t have to get into that rabbit hole.
Is that social pressure?Listen to Vaquero.
