Products to clean eyewear would probably work. And yes, on the lint-free cloths. They do make some specific to lenses.
Most scopes are sealed, so the advice of putting some warm water might be best. Agitate the water gently with a small brush and then drain it out. Rinse and repeat. Cloth recommendations are spot on. Not sure the make-up of the scope, but most have a finish on the glass so be careful not to scratch it off. Then buy a scope cover

I'm not saying take the whole rifle in the shower, just get some warm water (in a water bottle) and pour a small amount into the bell housing and agitate with small brush then pour it out. You can wrap towel/plastic around the action if needed to prevent water from getting in it. Just a thought.Did you see the first paragraph of post #6?
