Now that I have had my 9th cup of coffee: A constitutional question: What if? Trump gets really sick from the Rona and dies. The day before the night before the election. What happens to the election? The Republican nominee had passed away and the election is tomorrow.....

For this election it’s meaningless. No matter what happens it’s going to SCOTUS.

You’d think the VP becomes the candidate and if elected he appoints a VP. It’s probably what the DNC had planned for Harris.

True, for the vast majority, it's not. I think the combination of the early images of Italy being overrun in their hospitals and the media playing up things like this:

A seemingly healthy 28 year old doctor in her second year of residency dying from it. Stuff like that scares people.
More than a few incredibly healthy distance runners have crossed the finish line and dropped dead too. Does it scare other runners? Not enough to give up running.

Same thing goes for COVID, in my opinion. A few "healthy" people passing for reasons we can't explain won't stop the rest of us from living life.

    Key word "seemingly".

And occasionally seemingly healthy people die from all sorts of things.

OK? Not sure why you're piling on me describing why people might be scared. I never said anything about whether or not their fears are sound or not or that I personally share them (I don't).

Chill buddy, you're reading too far into it. It's a contrasting comment, nothing more, nothing less.

I think it's fair to say most people don't take death lightly, and it's also fair to say reasonable people don't live in fear of it. I could be wrong, but I think a lot of the "fear of the 'rona" is shall we say politically sympathetic.
