What is the best way to clean up water soaked carpet?
The hot water heater blew up yesterday and now water is all inside my house.
The carpets are soaked badly.

Set up a cell camera at the back feeder to try to take care of the corn bandits. By the time i sneak up the trail, about 60 yards away from the feeder, the coons take off before i can get a shot off.
So figured id out smart em with a trap.
I set it up last night ... the 1st victim
Shop vac (remove the filter) as much as you can (literally jam the bare hose end into the carpet) then fans and open windows. What is the best way to clean up water soaked carpet?

* pet peeve alert, it's a water heater, not a hot water heater
Working on it. The shop vac is working there is just so much water it literally flows right back into where the vac sucked it up.
Been doing the towel sopping up thing as well.
I think I'm making progress.
I'm so sorry for your situation. I've been there and it's my opinion that amateur efforts are doomed to fail. The mold, the odd smells, the it'll-never-look-right again carpet, the warped moldings...there's just too much damage that you can't even see right now that will manifest over time.I think I'm making progress.

What round for water heaters?
