Welp.... Got my first refused service today. Decided to go to Outback Steakhouse for a juicy rib-eye. Walk up to the meeter and greeter and hold a finger up signifying only one guest and request a boot if it was available. The gal ask "Do you have a mask?" to which I reply "Nope! Not wearing a mask." The she tries to hand me a cloth napkin and says "Just hold this over your face until you get to your table." I declined the offer telling her I wasn't planning on putting anything over my face just to walk 10 feet to a table. Then she replied "I'm sorry but I can not offer you service today." At which point I said fine... and turned and left. There was nothing acrimonious during the exchange neither on her part nor mine. Just an exchange of information. Went to another place that had no problem taking my money. I know I've set foot in the Outback for the last time. Their meat cuts and quality took a nose dive probably 10 years ago so it's really no great loss.

This Outback is on the Beltway in Pasadena.

As a privately owned business it is entirely their right to set the rules as to what is required to be served in their establishment.

It was entirely your right to take your business elsewhere.

I think it was handled in a very civil and respectful manner on your part and hers.

And yes, Outback IMO as well has gone way down in the quality of their steaks. The Blooming Onion is still pretty badass though!

Went to dentist, call and they will come to car and get you. Ask if had shots, yup, OK. Take temp, OK. Mask on to walk in, then take it off.
Went to eat. No mask needed, servers were not masked, owner wasn't. No problem.

    cycleguy,

    My posts are my posts.

Don't like em, want to interject your self into other people's posts?

    Adios to you too!

    Buh bye
I don't know by what authority you think you speak, but I will continue to interject as I see fit, especially when it is verifiable with facts that they are grossly incorrect. You are welcome to bring it to a Mod's attention if you think I am out of line.

I don't know why you are so triggered by DD and my posts, but I assure you it's nothing personal on my end.

    Peace bro

Other news yesterday is that a a federal District Judge declared the CDC exceeded it’s constitutional authority when issuing the eviction moratorium about a year ago.

“The question for the Court is a narrow one: Does the Public Health Service Act grant the CDC the legal authority to impose a nationwide eviction moratorium? It does not.”

DoJ is going to appeal on behalf of HHS and the CDC and is asking for a stay of the moratorium pending appeal.

It’s refreshing seeing courts recognize the limits of .gov “emergency” powers.

    Here
It has some of the numbers you asked for. They're available if you bother to look.

Texas42's reply was an attempt to play down the meme that I posted. I asked him if he had some numbers for his claim. The numbers that I was asking for were things like how many homeless people go for COVID19 TREATMENT, how many were admitted for COVID19 TREATMENT and how many stayed in the hospital longer than everyone else for COVID19 TREATMENT.

If you are going to answer for someone else please keep up with what the discussion is about. The title of this thread, Coronavirus Epidemic, Part 2, should give you a hint.

Sorry, I couldn't find a meme to explain it.

Your meme implied that homeless people would be dead in the street if COVID was a serious disease.

It isn’t that homeless people don’t get sick and die, (probably at slightly higher rates than average. . . Which is still 1-2% depending on age and risk factors) but in 2021 anyone can get treatment at hospitals and ED’s. And there still is 98ish percentage of homeless people left after COVID kinda means homeless camps look the same.

I thought that was obvious. Sorry if it wasn’t clear.
