Exactly. Now, some may argue the new 30.05 won’t apply to LTC holders without a 30.06 or .07 posting. At trial is where that will be decided, which is the only point I was making.

Some people want to be a guinea pig, some people become a guinea pig, and some people get convicted.
Are you serious? 30.06/07 wording is quite specific. 30.05 wording alone would not prohibit a LTC holder from entry concealed or open carry. I don't plan on testing it but you never know. Texas Law Shield.

I’m very serious the new 30.05 language only offers a defense to prosecution for an LTC holder. What they choose to do with that knowledge is up to them.

All of these laws are similar "it is a defense to prosecution if". I would have no problem walking past a 30.05 no firearms sign with my LTC. That's why I pay for legal help if needed.

Granted. But I'm more than willing to be a guinea pig when a $200 no-jail class C misdemeanor citation is on the table. I'd do it pro-se because I'm not going to pay a good lawyer $300/hr to defend me on a $200 ticket any more than I would for a speeding ticket. Since that's all that's on the line and I believe I am in the right, I would conceal and carry. The likelihood of being discovered AND unlawfully prosecuted is minimal.

Now, some may argue the new 30.05 won’t apply to LTC holders without a 30.06 or .07 posting.

Some may argue that and they would be correct, that is not the slightest bit in doubt under the law (as of Sept.1 ).

No thanks. As an LTC I have lost enough under this law. Texas is never going to accept OC. Permitless folks can do their own acclimation and find out why so few OC in Texas. They may also want to start reading the bill as thoroughly as most of us LTC folks have and find all the gotchas, cause saying I was told I was “GTG” on the internet’s ain’t gonna cut it with officer friendly.
You haven't lost SQUAT. If it's a privilege, not a right, they can take ALL of it away from you at any time.

It's been a WHILE since the bill was passed. Think we need to start calling the Gov.'s office to pressure him to go ahead and sign the thing.

We've been assured that there's nothing nefarious in the delay. Even if he doesn't sign, it goes into effect in 21 days. Effective date isn't until Sept 1, so there's really no rush.

I understand, but there are some counter-petitions being widely broadcast asking him to veto it.
    He knows better.

In all honesty, you are probably correct, but in fairness, it's probably not a bad idea to make sure that our message is very clear as to the fact that he does sign it. So, continued emailing and phone calls I think is a good idea as well.

Somethings that people want to do with a gun just because it’s legal Or because it’s their right does not make it an intelligent Or well thought out behavior. The appearance presented by that behavior should Bethought out and considered. What you consider harmless could be and possibly would be considered threatening By others.

If it doesn't meet the legal requirement to actually BE a threat, they can pound sand...but thanks for the sermon.

On that, I agree. I've sent him emails, thanking him for his support and praising his leadership. Kinda letting him know we're watching without actually saying it.
