This is true. Also acclimation to the new carry would be helped along if a ton of LTC holders stuck their necks out a bit and open carried as much as reasonably possible between now and Sept. 1st to get people used to it.Folks, I’m trying to head off a shîtstorm at the pass. There is a lot of work to be done next session, both for LTC and Permitless Carry.
Until then, we’re gonna have a bunch of Texans and some others who’re gonna stop by to see what they can learn before they carry without a permit. We, the good folks of this place, owe it to them to focus on the positives for them, educate them factually, and set the stage for a successful implementation.
The most dangerous time for this new law will be from 1 Sep 21 until elections the next year. Let’s set the stage that all the hard work that’s been done won’t be for naught and will enable fixes in the next session. The alternative ain’t goos to think about.

Although I like what you wrote, but other than when I wear a jacket I OC where I can and haven't gotten one unacceptable look, let alone words to the effect. No thanks. As an LTC I have lost enough under this law. Texas is never going to accept OC. Permitless folks can do their own acclimation and find out why so few OC in Texas. They may also want to start reading the bill as thoroughly as most of us LTC folks have and find all the gotchas, cause saying I was told I was “GTG” on the internet’s ain’t gonna cut it with officer friendly.
You must be under 26 and missed CHL passage.
CHL allowed more people to carry, in more places not just in Texas but across the US, while bypassing NICS and Fed School Zones, while not taking away any existing carry rights.
This law does NONE of those things.
Texas is a large and diverse state. More of a multi divided region.Although I like what you wrote, but other than when I wear a jacket I OC where I can and haven't gotten one unacceptable look, let alone words to the effect.

True, but when things become normal they inevitably become acceptable. So it sounds like we need more people OCing.Texas is a large and diverse state. More of a multi divided region.
Some of us can do things that others, elsewhere can't.
It's just that way.
We have been documenting it over the last 100 pages… but yes I plan to put together a 2-3 page brief of dos and donts when it is finalizedWhat has LTC lost under this law?
Can you provide examples of some of the "gotchas"?
Cory and his clown circus set OC back in definitely.True, but when things become normal they inevitably become acceptable. So it sounds like we need more people OCing.
I have not read it fully, but on another forum someone stated there is no permitless carry on campus allowedOne of the things that also concerns (affects) me, as far as keeping my LTC, is I haven't seen what constitutional carry will be on college campuses. Right now it's LTC holders, and even now through the college it's pretty quiet as far as constitutional carry goes.

That is not a bad thing to do with any law.I will Wait till agust and then talk to a couple of lawyers I know
