And legalPatience is a virtue.....
Going back to the original question........ when it's called a silencer (misnomer).
And I guess you call Jan. 6th an insurrection, because that's what they called it.That's what it's labeled in the National Firearms Act of 1934 and the Gun Control Act of 1968. Kind of like referring to an undocumented immigrant as an illegal alien. I have a registered "suppressor". On the ATF Form 4 it says Silencer...not muffler, or can, or suppressor. It's not very silent, though.
Who is they? I don't see the "mostly peaceful protests" at the Capitol being properly described as an insurrection based on any existing Federal laws. Only death was another White veteran victim of black supremacist police violence. Say her name! And I guess you call Jan. 6th an insurrection, because that's what they called it.
The government and the media. Certainly you aren't living under a rock, are ya?Who is they? And the U.S. got that right too. It muffles sound, not silence it, much like a suppressor.Different Countries use different words.
In England, a device on a motorcar exhaust to make it 'quieter' is called a SILENCER.

All my old British car repair manuals refer to this as a SILENCER. We in the US call it a muffler.
