I am going to get beat up for this but here goes:

I am a 64 year old Texan. In my generation this crap wouldn't be an issue.

We all get a flu shot. We all get the required vaccines for school.
So what is the big deal over getting this vaccine? Its political BS.

This is a world wide issue we need to ban together and take care of business. Put our political views aside and take care of our fellow citizens, our families and our country!

Getting the vaccine is your patriotic duty.

This is NOT a political issue!
    Its a health issue.

We are not going to get a handle on this until we all get vaccinated.

Dont want a vaccine? Fine stay home! Stop crying about it!

In my opinion when you get covid you dont get to take up space in our health care system over vaccinated.

    Keep your kids at home.

If your work requires vaccine then find another job or stay home. You dont get to whine about it.

Seriously stop drinking the conspiracy koolaid. What a joke!
Pull your heads out of the sand and looking to facebook for facts.

Stop being a self centered, selfish, child and do the right thing.
Dont whine and complain just man up and get it done.

WTF! It's just a shot that could save lives!

Pretty sure your side is the one that would do the beating up. Those of us who disagree just want to be left alone. You feel that way, fine, but realize it is deeply offensive and unAmerican, and YES previous generations have been wusses and also done horrible things like the Tuskegee experiment, Agent Orange, etc... so you are probably right about your generation.

Do you have any links for that. I'm not doubting it but since Israel is highly vaccinated I was wondering if this might be related to "hybrid immunity" that I've been reading about. In a nutshell, when someone has had covid and then gets vaccinated they end up with an immunity that is many times one would get from either separately and may be more likely to protect against future variants. It's at the kinda maybe stage right now but looks interesting.

New Studies Find Evidence Of 'Superhuman' Immunity To COVID-19 In Some Individuals

Naturally enhanced neutralizing breadth against SARS-CoV-2 one year after infection
My wife's boss had covid. Recovered.
    Got the jabs.
    Now he's got covid, again.

    Truth.

We are not going to get a handle on this until we all get vaccinated.

Vaccination isn't the only way to develop immunity; It's not even the most effective way to develop immunity.

Are you seriously painting otherwise healthy COVID patients who hesitated to take a revolutionary vaccine as being a burden on our healthcare system? Save your misplaced outrage and start yelling at fat people. They're a bigger burden. Literally and figuratively.

Flu vaccines are less than 50% effective. Do us a favor and ask your druggist if you can take this year's flu vaccine in suppository form. For all the good they do you may as well shove it up your ass. :-)

Ok let's just sit around and wait for herd immunity. That's what we should have done with past epidemics and let people die unnecessarily!
Please try to remember that measles and the like had been eliminated via whole sale vaccination.
These types of viruses look like they are here to stay and we should do everything we can to fight them.

…We are not going to get a handle on this until we all get vaccinated…
Doubtful. Only two diseases (one human, one animal) that have ever been eradicated. Smallpox and rinderpest. Polio is still endemic outside the US and even has large outbreaks in places it’s been eradicated before.

The *most* likely outcome is going to be closer to what you see with flu. Virus will mutate over time (or science is wrong…all viruses mutuate) and, like the flu, some mutations will be more deadly than others. Remember, the Co in covid is for coronavirus. Same basic type of virus as the common cold. Seven strains of coronaviruses exist in the wild, four of which are ‘common’ to humans and three which are zoonotic (jumped from animal to human)

Flu vaccine has a 40% or so uptake, so covid vax voluntary uptake is already better than that. Spanish Flu ran it’s course over a couple of years. Widespread Covid is maybe 18-months along the next 12-18 months are going to be informative.

Pandemics in general have two ends, the medical end and the public end. Rarely do those coincide and are most likely to eventually transition to an endemic problem and we’ll just have to live with it.

Polio could be wiped out if all of the conspiracy theory people that claim it’s an American plot hadn’t kept the 3rd worlders from getting the shots. Sugar cubes were easier.

Thank you for your reasonable response. I agree with you but I do feel like we should do everything we can to do our part to assist in mitigating this issue.
Am I tired of wearing a mask? yes!
Did I want to get another vaccine? No!

It is what it is and we as a people have a responsibility to do what we can . Should we use this as a political issue? Absolutely not!

Is their a life style component part in this? Being Over weight as mentioned above is not helping. Yes!

Recieving the vaccine at this moment in time doesn't mean we; dont need to stop taking precautions to distance clean our hands and yes continue to wear masks.

We will need to continue to remain vigilant.

"Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results" - Albert Einstein.

Personally, from here on I am going to say NO THANKS to the upcoming booster and/or any subsequent boosters after that. Not because it's political, or the anti-liberal thing to do these days; but because I don't want foreign chemicals inserted into me or my family especially if it doesn't work. COVID is simply becoming a giant turd sandwich, and we are all going to have to eventually take a bite.

I signed up for the two Fauci Ouchies from the start only because I travel a lot and meet with people daily in my field. According to Joe and the Hoe that should have been it.

No complaints, no whining, just leave me alone. No, I won't stay home, No my kids won't stay home, I am going to live my life... the last time I checked, I am still flying the American Flag (not the hammer and sickle) and I have that right to say "F-OFF" to anyone forcing me to do something I don't want to.

I think the trolley problem is accepting the unwritten/unspoken “reasonable” after the word everything in your statement above. But reasonable doesn’t result in near little binary options to bucket people in to.

Instead, political leaders who, this time last year were saying ‘Never’ to a vaccine are now saying ‘always’. That bell can’t he unrung.

I'm 64 also. The vaccines of the past were never rolled out as this one has. Vaccines for schools were based on the ages the diseases effected, it wasn't mandated for the parents. If we go on who COVID effects then the most they would have suggested is the elderly and those with comorbidities should be protected and others can have it if they want it. But that's not how this is being pushed.

Bend the knee has never been in my genes, and at my age, I believe it never will.

Saying this isn't political, just means you haven't been paying attention. You never asked yourself questions like, why are there so many health workers rejecting these vaccines? Why would the unvaccinated be a danger to the 'protected'? Why are drugs that have been shown to be effective being flat out rejected? Why should I believe the government if I don't believe in those that are in governmental charge?

When I was younger I gave into the thinking that if I go along my life won't change. Today I can now see what was lost due to that thinking. So now if it doesn't sound right and it doesn't look right, I question what is right. In the end, if I was wrong, it was my choice, and I will always fight for my choice, because that is mine and I will not let it be taken from me.

Ok guys so by that reasoning why do you even bother to buckle up your seat belts or pay attention to traffic laws..... this is funny .

Oh I wont bend a knee either but I will stand up and do what I can to help fight this issue.

Medical professionals quiting seems politically motivated. I think they are hurting the medical community so they can make a political statement.

I waa a medic in the army. Wouldn't it be funny if I walked away from helping if I didnt agree to my superiors politics. It wouldn't help my brothers arms.

But hey we all have our various opinions.

It's been fun discussing this . Thanks for all who relpied.
