I have a crazy conspiracy theory that the Dems are in bed with the cartels. With the open borders the cartels can influence the votes in the border counties. The people I talk to a lot of them are conservative.

    Just flinging poo without proof.

And on topic, I agree that having the two Dems run against each other will be disheartening for the Dems base.

It’s not crazy. It’s possible American politicians can be paid by cartel.

McConaugheys biggest negative is his personal hygiene. He has BO and he’s proud of it. Look it up

Reading the article, he takes multiple showers a day. And everyone has natural BO. So I hardly think he probably smells like some homeless guy living under an overpass and that hasn't taken a bath in over a year.

Ain’t got nothing on my dad. That man stopped using deodorant after retirement. He also never used air freshener for his trucks. He’d rip ass so much at some point it was just part of the seats and interior.

The ol 78 Ford was the worst. Decades of shitting his pants in that thing.

Might remind folks that Beto won Hou, Dal, Ft Worth, SA, El Paso, Austin, Jefferson County and a few (26) scattered counties. It was 48% to 51% in the race against Ted Curz.
So we have Beto well liked in Texas against a Celeb that conservatives don't care much for and a governor that want get off his ass and lock down the border (the hell with laws, they don't care, why should we). They always split our vote but we are apparently too stupid to find a dem, pay him to run to split their votes.
What I know is that in close races with a Dems we are going to loose since they are so efficient at cheating. Name a close race that really counted where the Conservative/Republican won?
I'll remind you that PUTO spent an outrageous amount of money - close to $20 per vote - and he made a lot of enemies among Democrats because it siphoned money from races they actually had a chance to win.

McG is running for office because his Hollywood career is fading. He is desperate to remain in the limelight.

In his bid for the Senate, the majority of the money he raised was from out of state. In his bid for the presidency in 2020, he had to drop out because of hardly any money raised through his fundraising, adding to his poor positioning in the Democrat field of potential nominees, his home state also ignoring him. His campaign quickly went even faster downhill when he announced he was planning to confiscate guns, something even Chuck Schumer was not going to align himself with.

Do you think the same out of staters wouldn’t dump money into his campaign for Governor? The left has it in for TX and FL and don’t worry about losing CA, NJ, IL, NY, etc.

Seeing how he blew $80M losing the Cruz battle and only raised $19M in his aborted run in 2020, it’s unknown what his future fundraising potential. Add to that if he’s still going to eschew PAC money, it gets real hard for him win friends and influence groups that would be championing him to their memberships. He’s also got to deal with the fallout from redistricting.

He’a going to run on two things: abortion and guns. If the abortion bill gets thrown out, that just leaves him to run on guns. Hate to say it, but that’s a losing proposition here.

OTOH, let’s pretend he wins. He’s got to contend with an R Lite Gov, Senate, and House. Pretty quick he’ll find out just how weak the Gov is, because there ain’t no way the Ds can put together a ticket to sweep gov, lite gov, at least three state senate seats and at least eight state house seats to really do much damage.

McC's popularity with some Texans is due he is an alum of UT and wears burnt orange to basketball games and sits on the end of the bench. I believe that is his main and perhaps only qualification to run the great state of Texas. Hook 'em Horns!

I think Abbott is pandering to his base to win the primary since his Republican challengers are questioning his conservative cred. Unfortunately, this base is far less than a majority and it will hurt him in the general election because he is alienating a lot of voters. I fear there is a very real chance we may have a Democrat governor.
God help us if that happens
