I wonder, how many crimes are committed each year using silencers? Using fake silencers (oil filters, "solvent traps", whatever)? Mind you, my sympathy with the guys who bought that stuff is very limited, as they knew damn well what they were trying to circumvent and they knew - or should have known - that these folks have no sense of humor.

I dunno, maybe there should be a priority list where stuff like murders, arson, drug smuggling, rape, child molestation, sex trafficking, and terrorism could be at the top and stuff that doesn't actually register as a problem could be at the bottom and the government could get the priority stuff done and leave everything else until that's completed.
Must be very rare. Because you know the liberal media would play it up to the max. And I have never read even one report of one being used in a crime.

    I’m sure it’s completely voluntary.

    deemus you're right...it probably is................

Nice business you have....have you ever been audited by the IRS?.......and you know we can just get a Judge to sign off on a warrant, when we come back we won't be so nice.....

Coercion by the government is still coercion

I know on dealer who didnt give the ATF shit when they shut down. It was purely an accident and lots of people were pissed. This was the 90s in AZ. I bet we'd have a jan 6th type hearing today.

Are soda bottle adapters a thing?

Duct tape. Or Gorilla tape. Or JB weld.

Once the ATF gets hip to all the various shenanigans people can pull to attach stuff to the end of a gun, or make a gun from - literally everything and everyone will be arrested, seized, impounded, or destroyed. Shoe strings, pop bottles, oil filters, steel pipe, shovels, saw blades, wood, resin, rubber bands... everything.

I'm amazed they haven't tried to take authority over potato guns, honestly. Jack some dude up for not paying a $200 tax stamp to assemble $10 worth of PVC and hair spray as a destructive device.

Full disclosure, I was only talking about catching patches and solvent, nothing illegal.

Many places used to sell cleaning kits with bottles to catch such trash like that. I went to the brownells site for a link and they dont sell them anymore that I could find. Then Google showed me this above.

Now I'm probably phucked from looking it....hold on someone is at the door....

Yep. They have been around for some years now.

    ETA: From MidwayUSA.

I was gonna say Larry Potterfield uses them in his gun cleaning adds in the middle of gun stories
