Yes, there are the 0.001% Jerry Miculek types who are really good in a pinch who could hit 6 targets in .98 seconds with a Barret M107 firing .50 BMG.

But let's be honest, most big belly biker types, 50 pounds overweight, pushing 75 years old, are literally turrets, nothing more. I'm not trying to be mean here, it's just the reality of life. If that's the type of "militia" you want to roll with, that's great.

But personally, I've seen those types at carbine classes, or at the range, and they literally sweat and breath hard just standing around. Not exactly "combat" ready.
You're free to post and think whatever. Obviously. I owe my boxing skills to an older fellow in his 70's at the time. He was a product of the Joe Frazier gym out east. I also have great memories of guy in his 70's that helped me perfect certain chokes. I don't share your attitude of older folks. It's disrespectful. I'm not trying to be a dick to you. I'm trying to help you be humble.

Like using the term combat ready. We aren't combat ready. We don't deserve that honor. We may have experience that will aid us, but I don't like that term. It's on the edge of stolen valor. It's on the edge of larping. Just tone it down if you want to make friends here. I'm a goofball on here...But one thing I don't tolerate is being rude to our seniors for no good reason. Be polite. That's all I'm asking.

Yeah I don't know you personally but I know nature and science.

Not a lot of 74 year olds running an 8 minute mile (considered pretty slow by most standards), let alone a 6-7 minute mile. Not a lot of 74 year olds rucking 50 pounds over variable terrain for 5 clicks. Not a lot of 74 year old with great eye sight, the type required to be making shots at distance.

Also I don't remember ever asking you to be next to me during a fight, ever. You think I want a 74 old liability to be watching my six? A guy who wakes up 2-3 times a night to piss? Give me a break.

Especially a hot headed immature geriatric who thinks it's cool to bully and start fights on the internet because someone "wasn't born in the same" area as them. I don't owe you respect, nor have I ever offered it. I certainly don't care what you or your family do during a fight. You do the best you can with what you got gramps. I know what I got, and it isn't going to be made better with an immature, out of shape, 74 year old in the mix. That I KNOW for sure.
See know you’ve attracted unwanted attention.

    A. Your in Texas and we tend to respect our elders ( exception to every rule, especially when they act like you, you being older than me and all) and not many are going to sit idle while you talk that shit, I won’t anyway.

    B. I don’t personally know you or others you run your mouth to, however, every time you post I have the same thought, your full of shit.

    C. I would pay to see you back up half of your full of shit posts (lucky for you I live in Williamson county so anytime works for me) about running and jumping while shooting the nuts off a mosquito and not breaking a sweat.

So to sum this all up, I think your full of shit, highly dislike your internet persona, despise the fact your from Cali and think your some savior and would pay to see you make a fool of yourself. Yup, that’s it in a nutshell.

Respect @Tblack89 for speaking out and not being silent.

Don’t know how many here actually served and were in real combat but it’s scary shit. Don’t get me wrong, there is time and day when you have to fight and defend your country / beliefs but I don’t wish it to happen anytime soon…

I am one of those old farts. My saying is I can't fight anymore, won't run away, so now I carry a gun. I am more of a has been than a want to be bad ass.

Truth is I can place good bulls eye shots at 7 - 15 yards and center mass at 25 yards. If the bad guy is coming at me I am prepared and may place some good shots to stop the threat. That said if the threat is 25-50 yards from me "hopefully", I can head for cover to regroup and better evaluate the situation. I am not chancing taking the fight to him odds or me winning that are not good.

I have my guns to protect me and family I am not a hero, LEO or keyboard bad ass however I will take action.

Sam, me and you agree on things and disagree on other things. This is one we disagree on.

I give respect if people show respect. popsgarland and his buddy axxe have been trying to troll me through different threads, have never showed respect, and I've even blocked one of them (yet I see him quoted in this very thread multiple times which means he's still following me), and even got one of my threads locked through trolling/baiting.

I don't give respect to people unearned, and if we disagree, we gotta disagree.

p.s - I don't care about making real life friends on here. If it happens, cool, if not, cool. I've talked to people on here through DMs who have met in real life, and they don't really talk kindly about each other. Not something I'm really keen on being involved with to be honest.

Almost everyone responding to this thread is telling us how good a shot you are while taking your time to locate your target, aim and fire. If I did this, at 74, i could hit anything I'm aiming at because I'm not in a rush to shoot and my target is not shooting back and I know where it is.

Now picture yourself in concealment and not knowing if your target is close by and waiting for you to show yourself. Are you going to get out of your concealment, look around to find your target, aim and fire before your seen and fired upon. If someone is out there and also looking for you, once you show yourself, you would have 1 maybe 2 seconds to raise your weapon, aim and fire. It will not be like a video game or being at the range. It's easy to dream and/or talk about what and how you can hit your target but very difficult to do in real life.
Its why I compete is Run-and Gun competitions and why a combat mindset is so important for combat success.

I don't see you being very successful under pressure, not gonna to lie.
You say "not gonna to lie" quite often. Just like the democrats, thinking that if you say one thing a lot of times, people will start believing it. You need to understand that, almost, all of our members are highly intelligent people and the more you try to convince them that your "not gonna lie" is...to put it in a way you can understand, stupid.

Caligunner has turned out to be all I expected and don't like from a Californian. Also, people who constantly repeat "I'm not going to lie", or "Trust me", are usually untrustworthy liars.

This will be my second 'ignore'.

Hey guys, let’s lay off the ad hominem attacks and get back to subject at hand.

Antifa is now overrunning your neighborhood, eith arson, pillage, looting etc. Like other older guys here you probably can’t out run or out CQB the youngsters attacking.
But as others have said, we have the patience to place shots from a hide.
