He flip flopped on "Hell yes, we are going to take your ARs and AKs", so I'm sure he would flip flop on this too. Now, if he did it before the election....I still wouldn't vote for him, heh.

You know...the only reason that y'all have put out to vote for Abbott is that "he's not Beto."

Is there anything that Abbott has done during his terms that actually support his reelection?

Let the man's actions (or inactions) speak for themselves....
would you rather he not signed the gun bills he did? I also kind of like his bussing people to the liberal areas. Just a couple things that immediately come to mind. Not saying I like everything he has done. I certainly don’t. But someone is going to be governor and I don’t have anyone better to vote for.

I also let beto's actions and words speak for him. While I don't trust everything he has said, I believe he would try to follow thru on his anti gun statements.

I’ll vote for the lazy turd we have since he’s a known quantity. No way I’m voting for a cross dresser who has already said he’s coming for my guns.

How can anyone on this board even consider voting for the fake Mexican Irishman?

And reality is, any vote for a third candidate gives Beto a chance.

    1. Just because someone doesn't vote for Abbott doesn't mean that they will automatically cast a Ballot for Beto? Are you saying that Dems that don't vote for Beto will automatically vote for Abbott?....

    2. A vote for a third-party candidate only gives that candidate a better chance. Are you saying that a Dem that votes third-party is giving Beto a better chance?.....

    3. Have you even looked the third-party candidates?

A third party candidate has about the same chance of winning an election as I have of winning the lottery.
With the current odds I don't waste money on lottery tickets.

Abbott and Patrick never really supported or worked for

    Open Carry.

I spoke be the committees during two sessions on Open Carry. Both of these characters were conspicuous by their silence l

Their only goal is re-election. 2A matters are not and have not been a real priority by either one based on legislative action.

Talk, talk, talk, and no action.

An abstention allows a vote for Beta to not be negated... It might as well be a vote for a third party candidate that has no chance of winning.

"From the Langley Outdoors Academy YouTube channel he reviews Governor Abbot's defense of the Second Amendment in his debate with Robert Francis O'Rourke [aka Beto]. He left Robert Francis looking like he didn't know what he was talking about. This is a perfect example of explaining the "why" and dismantling gun control point by point."
Of course yes. Anything is better than that Left Wing looney Beto

Yep, Abbot is is definitely not the best man for the job, but he is the lesser of 2 evils when compared to beto

I thought this was the last time Abbot could run?

There isn’t one. Constitutionally, the state government is designed to be weak with the Governor’s office weaker than the legislature. Perry and now Abbott have been trying to make it more powerful thru patronage appointments to state agencies and boards while the legislature has pretty much abdicated their responsibilities to oversee what the government is doing.

This concept that the state governor should be strong ain’t how it was designed to be.
Thank you for this reminder, I think a lot of people forget their Texas government classes.

Abbott signed the bill. If he signs the pro gun bills that get put on his desk, then that’s good enough for me considering the tough time we had getting constitutional carry through the state legislature, and to abbotts desk. Beta certainly wouldn’t have signed the open carry bill.

As far as third party candidates, it would be hypocritical of me to fault someone for not automatically voting for a Republican candidate just because he’s less shitty than the dem candidate. In my personal opinion, the likelihood of any future governor being worse than abbott is much greater than the likelihood of them being better than him, although opinions vary. One thing that I do wonder when I consider voting for third party candidates, is if it seems like they want to win the election, or if they just want to tell their friends how they ran for governor(or whatever position) that one time. I wonder how many people can even name any third party candidates running against abbott and Beta. I’m guessing the list will be small.

KXAN TV would have you believe that Beto won the debate and swayed a bunch of undecided voters to his side.

I'm so sick of the liberal media getting more powerful in this state.
Texas Tribune is a woke mouthpiece, KVUE and KXAN have accidental actual news coverage but they can't seem to help interjecting some wokeism in their reporting.
Then the Yankee media organization bought the Statesman and it immediately took a hard left. What really REALLY pisses me off is they feel obliged to weigh in on elections with their considered opinions. They know damn well they have influence and voicing "opinions" isn't reporting. I think that news media deserves the same level of scrutiny as companies for monopolistic acquisitions.
I read where there's like 5 major organizations that own 98% of the "news" media. It's so bad that headlines are virtually identical across the country.
