He's just too polarizing. I loved that he pissed off all the right people. But he turned off his own supporters. Many reasonable republicans fell out of love with him due to his antics. I don't think hes a buffoon, but he needs to be happy its all over and enjoy his 70's.

Only the left views those failures as a feature. And an actual 'red wave' would exceed the left's ability to cheat halfway believably. And if they can't make it plausible, then the independents and even some of the Dems will notice.
well it appears Arizona had the election results before the election, so good luck out voting that. But in other states, you may or may not be able to out vote the fraud.

They're still trying to figure out how to get the fix in for Arizona. Stalled at 69% reporting, and Lake is within half a point of taking the lead. That tells me she probably had a landslide brewing and the Dems are scrambling.

Best thing for firing up the GOP / Trumper / non-Dem base - would actually be for Trump to be indicted and tried and convicted by Biden's DOJ

DeSantis would be the easy pick at that point and people would be out for blood when they vote. THAT could show an actual red wave, and not the trickle we're seeing instead.

The democrats have only had one thought for several years - Trump. If he declines to be their target, it would destroy their game plan.

He lacks the self-control to do that. But the Dems are angling to take care of that for him - if they really do manage to come up with enough false charges to indict him or otherwise disqualify him, they'll shoot themselves in the foot. But they're trying hard to make it happen.

so you’re agreeing with me that in AZ, it’s the vote counters, not the voters who determine the results. If the news reported back in October that Kari Lake lost, and now they are just getting their paperwork in order to match, how do you plan to outvote that?

By creating enough of a landslide they can't cover it up without creating nonsense situations like more votes from certain counties than registered voters. By applying scrutiny to the election and the counting process and having a competent legal team to challenge irregularities. Arizona has been stalled at 69.72% of precincts reporting all day now. Kari Lake, despite all the shenanigans, is within a half point of Hobbs. This is a clear sign that they're trying to figure out what to do to keep her from winning, but if it goes on much longer the general public will notice and demand answers. When things become particularly egregious, even the press won't be able to ignore it.

What's the other option? Refuse to vote, drop our pants, bend over and wait for it?

Gee, they sure seemed to ignore it in 2020. Still are, for that matter.

That's why we make a big deal of it every time until they simply can't. A big part of why they can keep denying the 2020 shenanigans is Trump hate, and Trump's own lack of self control. More and more instances in races of all sizes will become too fucking obvious for the denials to be plausible anymore.

Harris County Lina Hidalgo county judge easy on criminals, under investigation for management of COVID aid, gets re-elected. Geeze
There were some serious... irregularities. Apparently during early voting, the site was reporting zero wait times for locations while there were lines out the doors. That happened with many sites on election day, well through the evening. There were also many paper shortages. And lots of locations had some or all voting machines non-functional. When I went to vote on election day, only one tablet was down, but other people came in and said that another nearby location was completely down.

The nonsense with extending the voting hours then not caused all sorts of confusion. According to Clifford Tatum, the elections administrator, there is lots of confusion over the exact circumstances these votes were cast under. It sounds like he said that some sites counted any ballot cast after 7 as late/provisional, though the rules say that every verified voter in line by 7 should be entitled to cast a regular ballot. They don't even seem to know how many late ballots were cast, even if they should have been regular and not late. But they're poohing it away. Paraphrasing (the reporter, I believe, not Tatum), "there probably aren't enough votes to make a difference in the outcome". Yeah, "probably".

On top of that, how many people were turned away in the first few hours due to equipment issues? How many of them were able to come back later? How many of them came back later, and found lines over an hour long or were just turned away again because of some other problem at the location (like the one place where the judge accidentally closed the polls for the day and they had to bring new equipment out to get the site running again)?

Now... Were these all mistakes and accidents? Or should this have been an obvious outcome of things like creating an elections administration department and staffing its leadership with community activists with no elections administration experience? Or replacing this activist with another political pick two months before the election? Or in that same vein, replacing the head of the IT department with a political pick who has no previous IT experience and proceeded to fire pretty much all the upper management and fired or drove off every apparently every other manager in a year and a half. Think that might lead to some convenient IT issues? Read some detail on that https://reduceflooding.com/2022/05/01/editorial-chaos-in-harris-county-government/

I wonder if there's any chance of getting a runoff out of this debacle.

There should have been. The extreme ball-dropping the current administration has done from day 1 should have guaranteed a GOP sweep of Congress. Once again, the Republicans have snatched mediocrity from the jaws of victory.
The GOP can’t market the party or the platform. There is no real conservative leadership, no attempt to explain conservatism, the GOP doesn’t even stick to their own platform beliefs.

They only talk about big change when in the minority. Two years with Trump, and a R Congress and what got done? As soon as the dens won they start grandstanding on issues that could have been taken care of when they had the reigns. Too scared to upset the press that might portray they poorly.

I’m guessing you never read the Arizona audit report from the 2020 election. They aren’t worried about that stuff.

2020 showed they don't care if its obvious, they'll do it and lie and the news won't report on it and most people forget.

2020 showed they can get away with it because Orange Man Bad. People were conditioned by 85% negative coverage to the point of slander against Trump. Remove him from the equation and they don't have it as easy.

I hear ya, and one truly hopes so.
Yet we live in a bizarro world where dementia is leadership, justices don't know what a woman is. women think they are men, truth is hate. I fear it is a set of physics leading to our demise, not justice.
