Someones spicy today. My shitbox XD has been top notch reliable for a decade, guess i got me one of the good ones. Phew.
some people get lucky, but one shouldnt rely on luck when it comes to a gun they use for self defense, and as much as I bag on the 1911 its still a better gun than the XD because it works, unlike the XD

ah so what you are saying is the XDs don’t work. Well I won’t argue with you, certainly your strong opinion. I will say tons of people would disagree with you, including articles by this gentleman who found the gun to be objectively reliable with actual analytics to support his claim. But hey man its no big deal hate XDs all you want. Its all anecdotal right, lets just hope I keep getting “lucky” with mine

I'm curious, how often do you shoot and how often do you clean your guns? because people who actually shoot quite a bit will tell you that the XD isn't all its cracked up to be.

This CZ75 P01 Omega is my choice of carry pistol, I trust my life to it and I have tinkered with it so it fits me well and does the job I want it to, which is be reliable and accurate when I need it to be. the B8 target was shot at 7 or 10 yards because typically shootings happen within that range.

Dude I LOVE CZs..my favorite gun infact. To be clear, CZ over an XD all day in my opinion. But im not saying XDs are God’s gift to the gun world, all i was saying was..I think they are underrated and mine has been great, thats all.

I don’t think asking my qualifications are proving anything, for example my personal experience does not change the studies/evidence provided on XD reliability right. But to answer your question, I shoot twice a month on average in my free time, but i have 15 years and counting of military and experience which includes being a small arms marksmanship instructor and yes my military experience is centered around boots on ground type combat (no offense to my admin/logistics guys lol)

    I've owned 2 XD pistols in 9mm, 2 in .40 Short and Weak, 2 in .45 ACP, I also have a XD(M) 5.25 in .45 ACP.

I really regret selling the two 9mms. I still have all three .45 ACP pistols, two here and my daughter has one of them.

I also have a HellCat Pro. I've owned several Glocks, sold all of them. I don't miss them at all. I do have three PSA Daggers, a much better pistol, to me, than a Glock 19.

    I have a S&W 5906, a couple of Caniks, several 1911's.

I'd really like to pick up the XD(M) 9mm model that has the 22 round mags.

Everyone has different tastes and needs. There's no reason to shit on someone because they aren't a fanboi of your chosen brand.

you shoot twice a month, which is better than most, I shoot 200 rounds, twice a month because that's the minimum to train with from what I have read. so you passed the test and I wont give you any greif unlike some other people here.
I just think people can do better than buying an XD personally.

dont overclean your guns, you wonder why that beretta you were issued rattled like a pair of maracas and looked like absolute shit and shot like a smoothbore musket? the military overcleans their firearms which causes more damage and wear, I clean my carry gun every 4 months max to every 6 months minimum. its a gun not a pan you cook your breakfast on.

Good info, is this based on how many rounds you put through it every time you shoot though? Im assuming some variability for rifle/type of gun. Our M4s especially when we were out in the desert we had to clean pretty religiously, just so much carbon build up and we needed those to go bang every time
