XDM … underrated?

Just wondering how this feature makes the XD line so much worse than a 1911, as far as operation goes.

MY ONLY THOUGHT IS THE GRIP SAFETY IS MUCH LARGER ONTHE 1911!

Yeah we are going in circles here haha. The article posted was very anecdotal. One instructor noting because of new shooters having a weak grip it was an issue. Only thing i’ll concede is the grip safety can obviously be an issue in stress/injury.

I just assume that anybody actually calling someone a “rookie” or “sissy” for liking a certain gun is joking, like you can’t actually be that stupid. But I probably give people too much credit.

I carry the XD compact concealed IWB at around 5:30 (comfortable to me) which means I'm holstering blind, well I could twist around but motorcycle injuries make it a little difficult.
I like the grip safety because I put my thumb on the back of the slide, no way I can touch the grip safety on the rare chance the trigger might snag during holstering. Especially considering the lightened and shorter trigger pull, not dangerously so but definitely not stock.
I don't feel it affects my shooting at all, and honestly don't even notice/think about it.

It was a little bit of a pain while fitting the trigger kit but no operational issues.

This pistol was issued to an Afghan Coalition Partner from Colombia in 2013. My understanding is that it was NOT issued to this Non-NATO partner by the US Army, but by some other US Govt agency...something like foreign military aid stocks. Notice that there is no slide retention disk peeking out from under the left grip at the rear left rail area. Its a really old M9...pre 92FS.

Colonel Columbia was just shooting some 9 at KMTC when the rear of the slide broke free and tried to enter his eye socket. The slide made two cuts just under his eye and gave him a black eye for a good while. I can't recall if his orbit was chipped or not, but there was a lot of talk about it. He complained about getting "old" equipment from the US, but couldn't explain why he wouldn't wear his "new" eye pro on the range. He didn't get a replacement pistol.

9mm nato is fine in early 92's as long as you stay on top of maintenance.

I'm guessing that locking block and recoil spring are what came with the gun

There is a reason there are no contracts. The XD line is for rookie beginner shooters and they do a lot of advertising in that market. There is more aftermarket support for Glock. The Glock has less parts. The trigger pull is better on all other pistols. Glock also advertises heavily with LE. they even make special 9 lbs pull guns for New York PD. I think the Yeet Cannon rates with the XD

Take the Glock Cock out of your mouth when talking, so you don't mumble as much!

And S&W has pretty much knocked Glock out of the LE market with better deals for most large agencies.
